Sasha turns so he can see her profile, undeniably her with her mouth full of pancakes, and he thinks he might choke. He almost just leaves. Of all the people he does not know how to face, she might be top of the list. He did her dirty half on accident, though she was dead by the time any of that really registered. There was never a chance for Eren to mourn any of his losses, whether they were his fault or not.

The space between them feels like a chasm but it's only a couple meters.
"Sasha," he says. Her name feels like ashes in his mouth, like something he has no right to say. But he says it again, as if that will somehow confirm or deny her presence in Ellipsa.
