[This new world quest isn't cool. It's not that Manic isn't concerned or anything, but he's got his own world in danger. His own quest and a prophecy to work toward. What about Mobius? His siblings? His mother? Add to that being skeptical of just being given powers to learn, and the strange combination of people, and it was just a lot to just be okay jumping into.
Adding to it, the white vest and shoes weren't doing it for him, and he feels pretty naked without his fanny pack, medallion, and wrist cuffs. Especially the medallion because he just isn't used to not knowing exactly where it is, having only removed it a few times in his life. Supposedly he should find his stuff in the apartment he's been assigned, so he can head there soon.
But for now, he's more interested in scanning the area for anyone familiar or anything suspicious. Just in case he's not by himself here...or this is actually some kind of trap. It wouldn't be the first time.]
Arrival - Part 3
[Okay, so apartments? Better than 99% of places Manic has ever lived, he has to admit that. Nice, clean, not crowded. His own room for the first time, and soundproofed. The soundproofing especially he plans to try out right after...there are his things!
He wastes no time ditching the white clothes for his usual orange vest and red shoes. Cuffs, medallion and fanny pack go on, and all is basically right again. Even his hoverboard is here, so he'd at least have transportation when he needed it.
Personal well-being sorted, he exits the bedroom and walks to an empty corner of the room. Touching the medallion, he summons his drumset and breaks out his drumsticks before hopping onto the stool.]
Time to kick back and see just how soundproof this place is.
[He's not expecting any roommate, but whoever the lucky person is...or maybe just the lost person...will be treated to an epic and very loud drum solo the instant they open that door.]
Near, Far, Wherever You War - Part 1
[He hadn't actually planned to jump into anything, he just wanted to know more about seasonal powers and see some in action. But he can't turn down a kaiju-sized pillow fight. That just looks like way too much fun. So he takes one of the potions and walks out into the arena.]
Hey, so no powers good with you? Because I just got here and I've go nooooo powers yet
Near, Far, Wherever You War - Part 2.1
[There's a major downside to having a terminal case of the "You Never Know What Might Come in Handy"s...occasionally you stumble across something with unintended consequences. Today is that day, courtesy of a cute yellow flower that was just begging to be touched. So he did, and then it weirdly melted away. He doesn't notice anything off though and continues on his way.
It's not until he spots someone finally that he starts to feel nice, warm feeling. Heart fluttering...but also nerves and sweaty palms. This person is just who he's been waiting for, his perfect other half. He should tell them. Find a way to show it. Flowers? No, the ones here melt. Fine, he can just talk to them.]
H-Hey, I didn't expect to see you out here. [Has he even seen you before? Doesn't matter. He just gives a smile, trying to hide how nervous he is.] Anything interesting going on?
Near, Far, Wherever You War - Part 2.2
[God, he handled that so much worse than he expected. How's he going to really prove his feelings now? He was just so nervous because he's never really stopped to tell anyone his feelings? How does Sonia handle crushes so easily? Is this a rich person thing, because he just feels like a total fool.
Maybe there's a nice rock he can crawl under to never be seen again somewhere. He'd consider the sewers if he thought he could face the rats, but he really doesn't.
So instead he moping, kicking small rocks and sighing heavily.]
I'm so stupid. Way to go, Manic.
Flour, Sugar, Egg, Magic - Part 2
[Getting paid to eat food and just by showing his homework? Manic's already got a plan to work this out. It didn't take long to make a pancake journal, just a little notebook where he logs his thoughts on each stall, and sticks a piece of pancake in its appropriate spot. He's already got four logged, and is on his fifth, fork between his lips as he considers the flavor and texture.
It's an interesting experience when you usually can't afford to be picky about what fills your belly, and this is actually really nice for a change. He can almost appreciate how snobs do this every day...almost.
Finally he pulls the fork from his mouth.]
No lie, this is my favorite so far. More people should swing by here. Maybe you just need a way to draw them in.
Flour, Sugar, Egg, Magic - Part 2
[He probably should have learned his lesson from Hip. He did. But this little cutie isn't Hip, will never be Hip, and that trap will be given no more thought, because he's made friends with this little jellycat. Little guy smells great. Like apples, though which kind he can't tell. He's also green, just like Manic.]
I think...I'm going to call you...Apple Jam. Because you're jelly like and my nose is jamming out to that apple smell.
[Breaking off a piece of pancake and mopping up some syrup, he offers it to his wiggly, purring friend.]
Here you go. This one's a little too sweet for me.
