He doesn't smile back; he can't, can't access or remember what it feels like. He's gotten closer recently, but especially with the looming dread he feels just seeing her, he can't manage it now. He's lucky if he can manage to look expressive at all, really.

But she's fine, isn't she? Younger than when he last saw her (he barely saw her that last day, but she'd been older in Marley before that anyway), and of course drawn by food. She's so…Sasha. Good.

He thinks Jean will be happy to see her. How long has it been for Jean and Mikasa since they saw Sasha? Years, must be.

He forces himself to move, following her to whatever pancake place she takes them to. It's all the same to him. The two cats follow after.
