We're gathered here today to invite you to Season's 1st Anniversary:

✨ 4th Wall ✨

Research Center is launching another beta testing project and characters are asked to participate in it through a Virtual Reality Simulator. The main goal of the simulation is to test out Seasonal Powers at full blast against the Darkness (everyone is temporarily given all abilities inside the simulator and the barrier protecting Ellipsa will be completely gone.

However, something goes wrong and characters get stuck in the "Metaverse" - and people who're not currently supposed to be on Ellipsa start appearing there as well... along with things from their world that are most definitely not supposed to be here.

Characters not participating in the beta project can also be sucked into metaverse through normal screens, such as phone or television screens. Their bodies will remain sleeping in Ellipsa, but their minds are taking on challenges in the metaverse - that looks exactly like Ellipsa, but has its own fun modifications.

Getting injured in the simulator feels real and may cause scarring in the actual body, but dying will just boot someone out. 4th wall characters will just respawn somewhere else after death.


Characters in game that don't get dragged into the metaverse will be able to help the Research Center to try and manage the computer program, to find solutions to end the simulation and help characters return from the metaverse. They will also be asked to make sure their friends and loved ones bodies are alright while they sleep. There shouldn't be a problem with touch energy, at least, but who knows where people have fallen asleep...

4th Wall will be posted on March 15th and it will last until March 31st!

Notes

Before engaging in the 4th wall it's a good idea to read the rules and maybe check other information about the setting! They may be in the metaverse, but it's a perfect copy of the world as it is now.

Please respect player preferences! Just because death doesn't matter during the 4th wall, not everyone wants their characters killed!

As always with public posts, writing smut is prohibited in the 4th wall posts! Please move any such content to another place, like the characters' journals!

Can anyone participate in the 4th wall?
Yes.

Do you need an invite to play in the 4th wall?
No. If you decide you want to join Seasons, they will need an invitation for that separately.

Do I need to join the communities?
No. The 4th wall post will be in the seasonsgreetings community.

Are doubles of existing characters allowed on the 4th wall?
We have a "Opt In" comment where current players can allow others to bring in doubles of their characters. Otherwise, we ask you not to do that.

Do I need to nerf my character?
Since the 4th wall happens in metaverse, any damage someone does there will be automatically corrected/healed. So there are no nerfs in the metaverse, just damage control.

Can characters leave and re-enter the metaverse?
Since the Research Center is working on a solution, characters can be booted out of the metaverse occasionally, but can also be sucked in by any 'screen' again later on, if the player wants to do that!

My character is a master hacker, can they find a way to shut off the metaverse or escape it?
As the project is partially magical, hacking wouldn't be able to do that. They can probably make things that shouldn't happen with by messing with the code, however, but please ask other participating people for permission before doing anything bigger.

If you app a character after 4th wall can they remember what happened during it?
They can, but they feel almost like a weird, blurry dream rather than something that actually happened at first. They can either remember everything as time goes by or just be left with the somewhat blurry memories of the events.

Will existing characters remember everything that happens?
They have an option before the end of the 4th wall or remember or forget everything or parts of what happened during the 4th wall event. This confirmation happens every time they're booted out of the metaverse.

Fourth Wall: Marnie

CANON: Pokemon Sword/Shield

ABOUT: The little sister of a gym leader, Marnie embarked on the same journey to become a Pokemon Master as Hop and the SwSh protag, winding up at the quarter-finals before being taken down by the protag. She's fiercely determined, even though she doesn't show as much emotion as, say, Hop. She's still learning how to smile without it looking too weird to her.

ABOUT: One of the racers in an arcade game known as Sugar Rush, Vanellope lived her life as a glitch, thinking she was never meant to be part of her game. Thanks to a big friend, she managed to find her true self, and races alongside her friends every day.

In her world, the characters in the arcade games know they're video game characters, and they can see the kids who come to play their games from their screen.

No, we're not talking about the sequel, she's post-WIR1.

Fourth Wall: Cream the Rabbit

ABOUT: The youngest of the cast (iirc), Cream is a rabbit that flies using her ears. She often attacks by sending her Chao, Cheese, to flail at an enemy, but she can do similar movement to Sonic and the others like spindashes and such. She also befriended a robot that was used against Sonic and co., named Gemerl. She’ll befriend you too!

ABOUT: Silver is a hero from a bad future here to save the world! And a massive dork.... a dork with the ability to pull a small building out of the ground with his telekinesis and smash you with it. Luckly he wants to be a hero and only does that to bad guys. He's rather naive thanks to being from a future with very few people in it and will happily be your friend if you say as much as two words to him.

Yeah he's an oddball who would be scared of everything ever.

ABOUT: Mike is a blue cat in high school and he's been through... a lot. He's currently getting some much needed character development in the current chapter so if I do app him in, it'll be post chapter. He's currently in a long distance relationship but still harbors feeling for one Lucy (oops). He's made mistakes and he's at the point to where he's apologizing for them. Despite his mistakes, he's school focused and puts that above fun things.

ABOUT: Sonic himself has chessy catch phrases that are out of date, the show did run in the early 90s. He can not go super sonic, his plays a guitar, isn't afraid of water or swimming, favorite food is chili dogs (of course, what Sonic doesn't like them?) and he's in a relationship with Sally in his canon.

Event Plans: Nine will be volunteering to be inside of the simulation in order to really test himself and the seasonal powers. As soon as he's aware that something is wrong though, he's going to shift focus somewhat to tech support and collaborating with anyone will to help anyone pulled in unexpectedly.

Event Plans:
Husk is going to be drawn into the simulation, remaining unconscious at his and Angel's place while learning to navigate the program and likely helping whoever ends up teamed up with him...albeit grouchily. This is mostly for CR and motivation for him to actually be doing more than he is at the moment.

Manic's not going into the simulation, he's leaving that to the more experienced people. But he'll definitely be willing to help look after anyone he finds unconscious during the event and collaborating with anyone who is also trying to help or might need support.

Wukong should be on emotional recovery after some very emotionally taxing recent events, but he's being sucked into the simulation instead. He's going to get so much-needed closure from the visiting Azure Lion, but otherwise I have no real plans for him and am open to any CR.

Cole's being drawn into the simulation, where he'll be doing his best to help out especially people that he's familiar with, but also being reunited a couple of familiar faces from home. He's not in the best mental state at the moment, but he can shelve that until this all blows over, right?
