[ All of Eren's emotions still burn too brightly somewhere deep inside of him. Anger is always the easiest, but there's more than that. He cares about his friends — Jean included, of course — enough to literally murder the whole world for them. He doesn't ever expect them to understand or appreciate or forgive.
All he wants is for them to get to live. Jean and Mikasa getting that…well, it's a complicated set of feelings that go along with that knowledge. And it doesn't change what Eren himself has lived through and done (will do?).
He stands there and lets Jean hit him, head turning to the side from the force of it. He can feel his lip split. It doesn't matter. By the time he looks back at Jean, there's already steam rising from his face, the small bit of damage healing itself. If only Jean knew how much he deserved that hit. ]
