Before Azure could finish, a growl pierced the air. A large metal and stone lion came stalking around the corner. The lion's eyes widened. He pushed the monk behind him and quickly drew his sword seemingly out of nowhere with magic from his hand.

"One of the guardians from the Jade Emperor's throne room. How is it-?" Azure had no time to finish the question before the monster, surrounded in dark energy, pounced.

"Run!" He blocked the bite with the flat of his blade. "I will hold it off!"
