That is currently why we're in a simulation. There is an attempt to see what fully unlocked seasonal and home abilities might do against the Darkness.

I'm suspect on the latter point, but I am curious to see what full Autumn abilities may allow for.

Now, theirs is a sort of halfway draft. They're not forcing anyone to fight the Darkness, just keeping them here until either random chance sends them home, or the problem is solved.
