At least that's one good quality that Max has... although Macaque doesn't even believe his own mental voice when he says that. He likes Max in spite of himself.

"Can I ask you something about Max? It's okay if you don't want me to. But he and I had an encounter that I think hurt his feelings and it surprised me." Or he was pretending that it hurt his feelings, Macaque isn't quite sure.
