Even though it's Pokémon doing the battling, Maine recognizes this tactic for what it is. And it is indeed a tactic that works: the enemy Pokémon spins away from Blue-chan, distracted by Bubbles. Maine drops to one knee, giving Blue-chan a single command:

"Water gun."

Delivered with all the force one might expect someone to tell a sniper, Shoot to kill.

Blue-chan takes aim at the distracted Pokémon. Thanks to Bubbles' antics, Blue-chan is able to line up his shot. Then, with a mighty cry, he fires, hitting the enemy squarely in the back of the head.
