BEACH PARTY!

Exploring the Food Stalls!
Maria made her way along the food stalls, staring wide eyed at everything and not sure what to try first. There were so many sights and smells and people wandering about in the festive atmosphere. It was a little overwhelming to someone who had been living isolated in space for so long, but she was still enjoying herself immensely.

She wandered, wearing a long length, sleeveless lavender colored sundress with white sandals. To aid in protecting her pale complexion from the sun (besides wearing a ton of sunscreen), she wore a wide brimmed sun hat. She wore a bathing suit underneath her dress, and carried a backpack with some beach things and a towel because she was definitely planning on hitting the beach later.

She paused at the end of a row of stalls, frowning in thought. “Hmmm what should I try first!” There was everything here ranging from sweet to savory so it was a tough choice.

In the Pool!
At the beach, Maria had deposited her things and spread out her towel in a shaded spot. She pulled off her hat and sundress and made sure she reapplied some sunscreen before making her way to the water. She wore a light blue bathing suit that had a small skirt. The only accessory she had on (other than a hairband), was what appeared to be a metallic silver bracelet on her wrist. It had been given to her by the hospital and served as a kind of medical alert bracelet. If someone came across her in an emergency, they’d be able to scan it with their phone device and see her information and emergency contacts. Once it was explained to her what it was, she never took it off.

Once Maria got to the water's edge, she blissfully dug her toes in the sand. It was a hot day, so the cool water felt really nice. It was hard to believe this beach was artificial, the ‘pool’ was so large. After taking in a deep breath, there was no hesitation as she barreled into the water, splashing the whole way with laughs of delight.

Sandcastles!
Later, Maria could be found on the sand trying to make shapes for a sandcastle. She was still in her bathing suit but she put her sun hat back on to shade her face. She’d never actually made a sand castle before and had only seen pictures so it was a fun challenge trying to do it from memory. She had a bucket and a small handheld shovel to use to make the sand damp with water and able to be shaped. But she was mostly trying to use her hands to pat it into shape.

“Hmmm. Doesn’t look quite right.” She mused, looking over her lumpy creation. She looked at her bucket with a thoughtful frown. Maybe she could use that to shape the sand instead. She reached for it and started scooping sand into it. “If this works, I’ll even dig a moat around it!”

Bonfire!
Evening reached Solarpeak. But the party didn’t show any signs of stopping. There was live music, dancing, various activities around the beach, swimming and of course the bonfire. Maria was exhausted from all of her adventures during the day under the hot sun, but she was bound and determined to stay for the bonfire. She had put her towel down in an available spot nearby so she could enjoy being near the fire and listen to the live music and take in being around so many people. Smells of delicious foods wafted over the sand. She had a plate with some prepared s’mores and other snacks and off to the side she even had some sparklers to light after.

She sat on her towel, back in her sundress though she wasn’t wearing her hat or sandals. She was mostly dry after a recent swim and smelled of coconut lotion.

“This is the best day ever…” She sighed happily.
