Arrival

Part 1

You arrive in an unknown space, dressed in white clothes (player choice what kind of clothes, as long as they cover everything). Whatever was happening to you before no longer happens. It's like everything was put on a pause and you were transferred away from the situation without you realizing it happened.

The space that you find yourself in is one of these four options:

An empty landscape filled with snow and ice, almost like a blank canvas.
A field with cherry blossom trees and spring flowers.
A sunny beach near an ocean that seems never ending.
A quiet forest with falling autumn leaves.

All of the spaces seem to continue endlessly. No matter where or how far you walk it almost seems like you're not moving at all. There are no animals here - just those who happened to wake up there at the same time, in the same place. Everyone is wearing the same kind of plain, white clothes.

Despite the possible rollercoaster of emotions you might be feeling, the place somehow feels familiar. Like somehow you belong there.

And it looks like you're not alone.

Part 2

After half an hour has passed the surroundings change as everyone is teleported into a room with all the other new arrivals, no matter what space they woke up in. It's a large place with plenty of seats to sit in and beverages to enjoy. Medical attention is offered to those who need it and the doctors here are very prepared for any challenging situations.

Here, in this room, everyone gets an answer to where they are and why. A hologram of a man appears at the center of the room, waiting to be heard. He brings a message on behalf of the leaders of Ellipsa.

Hello, my name is Olwen. I'm one of the leaders of Ellipsa as it currently is. I'm also one of the four who summoned you here.

Our world is in trouble and we need your help. I apologize for tearing you away from your world and forcing you to come here but I hope you understand. The magic we used doesn't let us ask in advance, nor does it let us choose who we bring here.

This world is composed of four Seasonal Segments. All of them represent one of the seasons. They were the places we used to get our resources from, but now they're dangerous places no one should go into unless they have the power to fight back. All of them have their own sets of powerful monsters and natural catastrophes.

We used to have plenty of people here who could control the powers of the four Seasons. We called them Seasonal Power Holders. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy you can read about later, we lost almost all of them. Now only four of us remain and the world is in chaos. We have done our best to protect the world, but we need more power holders to do that.

That's where you come in.

All of you have been assigned to one of the seasons. Whatever space you were in just now is what season you represent. You will learn different skills based on the season and those skills are going to help you save this world.

These powers don't interfere with your own natural powers. They use a new energy that has formed inside of you. It's harmless to your health, but it's vital to your seasonal powers. Your own powers should still work, even if the dark energy outside the city might interfere with them.

Unfortunately bringing you here wasn't as simple as it sounds. We couldn't do anything about how to keep you anchored to this world other than making a simple spell that helps with it. That is, you need to touch someone else who is not from this world ideally at least once a day. It will help you stay in control of your powers and boost your magical energy. If you don't, the consequences aren't very good. But as long as you hold someone's hand or give someone a handshake, you should be fine.

That's all I have to say about the situation. The staff of the Research Center will give you more information about housing and other necessary things. I will, however, promise that you will be sent home once the situation becomes better. That's the least we can do.

The hologram can be viewed in private in a separate room later, should someone wish to look at it again. For now, the staff of the Research Center hands everyone their new smartphones with their small flower lucky charms (the flower is anything the player decides). They're also told that the building next door is where everyone can find a room assigned to them with some of their belongings there and possibly even any animal companions. Those concerned about their mount-sizes companions are welcomed to the stables downstairs to see if their friends are there. The mounts are allowed to stay there until you find a place more suitable for them.

In the Arrival's hall there are also several stands with information pamphlets.

First type of stand is for the local Guilds and about the benefits or joining one.

Second type of stands is for the Welcoming Committee that aim to show otherworlders what the world is like and help guide people in the beginning of the journey and helps in getting settled into the new world. They even have people to help if you're unfamiliar with the new phones.

Third type of the stands is for The In Touch Support Group that is led by the Otherwordly Ambassador, Kamisato Ayato. The pamphlets have contact information for businesses looking to help Otherworlders. They also focus more on the lore of the World and what they have discovered so far, as well as a guide on what to think about when preparing to venture out to the Segments.

Once you get your smartphone and necessary information, you're urged to go out and find your apartment. After that whatever you want to do is up to you.

Part 3

The building next door is where everyone can find their new apartments. As you enter, you're told by a friendly native that for the first two months you can live anywhere rent-free and five meals a day are paid for you. After that they get a monthly payment that helps with some of their living expenses, but otherwise they have to have a job to support themselves.

All of the apartments are comfortable, two bedroom apartments with all necessary utilities. They are also completely soundproof. Sometimes the magic system, however, does glitch and you might find yourself rooming with a stranger. This is not the intention and the staff will immediately prepare you your own room if you ask them. But maybe having a roommate isn't all that bad?

Party in the Underground

Part 1

The center of Nightwake never sleeps and there's always something happening, but today there's a lot of excitement in the air all around the center and every district! Locals and those who want to help them (for 100 Moon Coins or a gift card of their choosing), are walking to everyone to offer colorful fliers along with free vending machine tokens. There's also colorful advertisement on billboards and posters everywhere around the city advertising all sorts of things like items, clothes, drinks and more.

Local businesses, stores and restaurants are also going pretty crazy with their celebrations of anyone walking in being their 50th, 100th or whatever customer of the day and the prize among other things are gift cards and more free vending machine tokens but they aren't even for that same shop or restaurant? They also offer people to spin all kinds of different prize wheels, spin roulettes, buying a certain amount of things from them, and taking part in eating and drinking competitions for a surprise prize. Someone even put these surprise prizes into the Gacha Restaurant's randomizer, so for a week, you can choose it as a total surprise there too. (The surprises can be even more vending machine tokens and silly things like cute keychains or a 5-in-1 avocado tool as some examples.)

You can't find any of these shops, restaurants and other places, that they are advertising, in the whole city. The locals, posters and billboards will tell you where you can find them. There's a new entrance in every district, where locals welcome everyone to the grand opening of the Underground Mall!

Some may even drop into a sudden hole in the ground on their way and fall (or slide) somewhere far away. Don't worry, there will be very soft and huge pillows for landing in your destination.

Part 2

The Underground Mall's upper floors give the vibe of a joyous mall with several restaurants and shops you won't see on the surface. The mall is definitely a must visit place for those who appreciate different fashion and exciting food choices. The party from the surface continues down here with various sales around the area. A good day for shopping!

For those who like games, there's a futuristic VR Arcade for you! This Arcade focuses on games that are played with VR goggles on. Even your regular DDR machine will now take you to dance in different environments and feel like you're dancing for your life or for an actual audience.

There are all sorts of vending machines lined up in their own, huge corner. You can find the usual ones with all sorts of different snacks, food and drinks, but there are also some with cake, cookies, mayonnaise, cream, flowers, engagement rings and other less usual but normal things. Nothing here is randomized, unless you choose the random option from the machine, otherwise you get exactly what you want. So pick your favorites or try something new, that sounds more or less good! You can find a machine that turns moon coins on your phone into vending machine tokens (or you can pay straight with your phone).

And, yes, you can find vending machines full of snacks and drinks all around the area too.

Then there's also an area for ufo catchers with all kinds of prizes like pokemon plushies and lots of other plushies, items themed to different season, plushies and other items themed to any fauna and flora from all around Ellipsa, puzzles, food themed items etc etc.

Moving inside the mall is done by escalators and elevators, but there are also regular stairs for those who prefer them.

The fastest way of traveling from floor to floor in the mall is by quick teleport nodes. You choose a floor you want to go to from the list of choices, much like an elevator and then you're transported into that floor's node within seconds. Unfortunately, they're still working out on the bugs in the system, so you may end up in the wrong place - including places that aren't on the list of choices.

Part 3

There's also a Poké Ball Vending Machine, so anyone who recognizes poké balls may have some idea what they could get here. The vending machine somehow has enough balls for everyone in Ellipsa but everyone can only buy one ball! The balls don't have names in them and no one can see through them, so even those, who know Pokémon will NOT know what they'll be getting from this vending machine as it is entirely randomized!

Are you ready to get your first Pokémon? What about being ready to see how you two get along? Everyone, who plays this vending machine, gets either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Rowlet, Litten, Poplio, Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, Spirigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly.

(And yes, ICly it is entirely randomized but OOCly you can decide which one you want your character to get... Of course you can rng the result too. More about Pokémon guidelines in the OOC Tips of this TDM.)

Welcome to Our Dark Side

The third part of the TDM is under this details cut as it has Content Warnings, including Cursed things, Organized Crime, Illegal Activities, Monster Forms/Body Horror, Attempted Murder, Experimenting on People

Part 1

The lowest levels of the mall are only accessible by random quick teleport nodes around the mall (if you know you know is the motto with these). You can run into them on accident (they're usually hidden, but with so much traffic, the hiding place becomes visible) and they sometimes immediately just teleport people without any warning. The arrival can be in various places. A random shady hallway, in the middle of the floor, in a shady establishment and so on.

Anything that seems shady can be found from these floors. Even the local diners here are very weird and likely have illegal things on the menu. Clothing stores sell all kinds of clothes fit for thieves and assassins and the amount of weapons shops here is twice the amount than on the surface. Rumor has it there are also people trying to summon the devil somewhere around here, but that's still just a rumor.

One of the teleport node locations can take you to the front of a cursed vending machine corner. At first they look like ordinary vending machines, but upon closer inspection one may notice they are anything but ordinary.

The food vending machines are full of different "eatable" bugs with half-hearted warnings that they may or may not be poisonous (they didn't really check before putting them in the packaging), Mystery Food boxes (includes some very suspicious foods that don't look edible, but are actually alright in taste? But may contain some side effects like growing mushrooms out of your hair if you eat the mushroom ones), ones that is labeled Energy Drinks but all of them look more like creepy potions (they provide energy but at the cost of poisoning someone for 24 hours) and hyper realistic cakes that look like various body parts (the cake part is intentionally written in small print).

Other vending machines have various shark eggs (hatching them will provide a magical shark with little hands and legs that invades the first watery surface it finds and bites whoever comes too close - it does not belong as a pet, but one may try to tame one), Mystery Boxes (with anything from highly cursed jewelry to books that suck your soul if written into) and Cheat Slips (it's said these slips will let you master a skill immediately, but all it does is cause one's powers to go berserk for 2 hours).

Part 2

The lowest levels are also a place for a large Casino. While they do exist on the surface, this one is a little different.

The Casino (named just that, "The Casino") is divided into four different sections; All of them are dominated by an organized crime group. This is the only area of the underground they work together in peace and sometimes come to relax. They don't cause trouble for each other here, but they definitely can try to cause trouble for everyone who is visiting the place.

Losing in this Casino can mean being taken to the back rooms by whichever group's area you ended up losing in. They will offer to let you go if you can pay off your debt you made in the Casino, but they have other options of compensation.

Name: Diamonds
Game Area: Card Games (Poker, Black Jack, Craps)
Compensation: They will send characters on a criminal quest to either steal or sabotage something or even smuggle a (cursed) item into important places.

Name: Spades
Game Area: Roulette
Compensation: They will attempt to kill the character that lost in the quietness of the backrooms.

Name: Clubs
Game Area: Pool, Darts
Compensation: They will just make characters clean their casino area.

Name: Hearts
Game Area: Slot Games
Compensation: They will drag characters into experiments in a different facility.

You may also end up taken to the back rooms for getting caught cheating, although it may also end up in a congratulatory meeting for an impressive sleight of hand instead or an invitation to join one of the groups. How would you feel about a life of crime?

Part 3

Those caught in Hearts Group's Experiments will be subjected to series of tests. Mostly they're to check the characters' physical condition before proceeding. Once the tests are concluded, the character will be given a medicine (either via shot or a pill). This medicine will not show any signs of working for a while and characters are let go afterwards.

The same medicine can, however, later be consumed by anyone else in various foods and drinks (free samples, some restaurants, even some grocery store items), even in the higher levels of the Mall. The experiments were the final test before distributing the medicine secretly to the public. So your character may accidentally end up getting the medicine in other ways.

What are the medicine? Monster Form activators. They will awaken a monster form inside a character that will trigger under one of the (player) selected conditions: strong emotional reaction, full moon, near death situation or bleeding.

The form can be returned from by calming down and focusing on their sense of self, but there's a chance to go berserk, making this difficult. If characters go berserk, their powers will be a lot stronger, but they won't know who's a friend and who's a foe. Their form may also be a lot scarier than it normally is. They will likely only want to cause destruction around them or want to feed on humans.

Alraune	Plant monsters with a humanoid shape. They may have changes as simple as flowers growing in their hair or have complex body modifications such as roots for legs and long vines as hands.	Pollen with status effects like sleep/poison/paralysis, control over plants, poisonous kisses, etc
Gargoyle	Monstrous humanoid winged creatures with horns on their head and stony hides.	Super strength, tough skin, flight

Werecreatures	Monstrous, bipedal animals, the transformation of which is often (but not always) triggered by the full moon. Common variants are wolves and bears, although they can be about any animal. The Pooka would be one of the variations in the werecreature category. This effect can either be permanent or temporary, depending on how the players want it. Temporary can be up to just one transformation under the conditions or several.

- Test Drive is open for current characters to make a top level as well. New characters can add TDM (or "New" or anything else) on their subject line to indicate they're new!

- Current characters cannot access the starting area again to meet new arrivals. They can, however, be at the Research Center when the newbies are teleported in.

- The TDM is game canon so anything in the TDM can happen for your character(s) in the game as well.

- Pokémon Guidelines:
• Anything mindblowing crazy that the pokedex has to offer for any of the evolutions doesn't carry over to Seasons. They're closer to anime variants where people can get flamethrower at their face and live (we still do not recommend getting a flamethrower at face)
• Pokémon gain experience points much slower, even if they battle one another.
• You may be able to find a vending machine with weird stones mixed in for stone evolutions. Strange.
• All start at level 5.
• More Pokémon may appear later in the game but for now it's just the ones mentioned.

A. The Dark Side - Part 1, cursed vending machines

[Crow is absolutely tickled to have a teleporter misfire send him to the underground mall’s dark side. He tries out a few of the cursed vending machines, mostly out of curiosity, until he sees one labeled CHEAT YOUR WAY TO VICTORY. Well, who could possibly resist? He taps his phone and fishes out the little ball the machine spits out, cracking it open immediately.]

A piece of paper? This is bullshit.

[Scarcely has he spoken, though, when the “piece of paper” kicks in and his powers start to go haywire. A hollow black circle inscribes itself on his forehead, blood dripping from what looks like charred skin. An aura of grey streaked faintly with purple erupts around him, blurring the edges of his form into shapeless shadow. At which point the plastic ball falls through his fingers to bounce on the floor, followed by the piece of paper.]

Motherfucker.

B. The Dark Side - Part 3, Clubs

[Once the cheating slip effect wears off and he’s able to get his anima back under control, Crow is heading straight for the Casino. First stop: Clubs, where he’s playing darts, lazily throwing bullseye after bullseye, taking bets on whether the next one will land in the center. It always does. A few of the people running this area don’t look very happy about his streak, but he either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care. In fact, he’s looking directly at you.]

C. The Dark Side - Part 3, Diamonds or Clubs (will roll with whichever you pick)

[Must be busy in the Casino, because after being dragged to the back rooms, you’re dumped in a well-appointed waiting room and left to stew until the boss is free to talk to you. Maybe you’re here because you lost too much. Maybe you’re here because you didn’t lose enough and your cheating caught somebody’s eye. Maybe you’re just real lucky and the boss don’t like that. Who knows?

Whatever you’re here for, you’re not here alone. There’s another man slouched in the waiting room, looking bored.]

D. The Dark Side - Part 3, Spades (CW: violence)

[Maybe you got caught cheating at roulette, or maybe you lost just a little too much at the table. Either way, you’ve been brought to the back rooms for a friendly chat. While you’re waiting, a series of odd thumps and what might be a muffled yell emerge from a nearby room—presumably some luckless person suffering what terrible fate you’re about to suffer.

The door opens...and out steps a slender young man with black and red hair, dressed in black. Black boots, black ripped jeans, crimson t-shirt, black jacket printed with a rib cage and spine. There’s a streak of blood across his face and two black knives in his hands, wicked-looking things with serrated blades.]

They got you too? Well, they’re not gonna be anybody’s fucking problem anymore. Let’s bounce.

Party In The Underground Part 2
[Wanderer isn’t really paying special attention to anything in particular. It is too busy and too loud and actually, he should not be here. The snacks being offered are disgustingly sweet and when he opens one of the drinks and takes a sip it tastes exactly the same. Disgustingly sweet.

So amidst the people there’s a little guy standing, pulling a face as if someone just poisoned him.]

Here. [The first passerby gets a bottle with green liquid inside of it thrusted in their hands.] Tch. As if my teeth are falling from my mouth.

[The look on his face isn’t that of someone who has any plans to engage in a further conversation.]

Party in The Underground Part 3
[Perhaps it is pure boredom, perhaps he has no good idea what to do with all the Moon Coins he has earned throughout the months by participating in quests or he is just curious. Now he has never heard of a ‘Poke Mon’ and to him the balls are mere balls.

Whatever, if it is another sweet snack, he’d give it to one of the idiots who are so very adamant on wanting to become his friend. He crouches down to pick the ball that has came out, shaking it a couple of times and even before he wants to open it the thing opens from itself and a small bird-like creature appears in front of him. And it seems to be alive.

It waggles and looks up at him, obviously expecting something. Like care. And pets. And food, probably.]

Shouldn’t you be outside? [Wanderer isn’t sure if he’s talking to himself or the creature in front of him. And the second its starts to waddle he just follows it. Perhaps it is best to make sure it will make it to the wild safely.

Thing is, halfway the mall, it seems it doesn’t want to be outside at all. The little animal keeps waddling around his feet.]

Welcome to Our Dark Side Part 3 [He’ll fite u, monster.]
[Wanderer had been into the casinos and he has been looking around and then he decided that he really can’t care enough to play this game. Even the promise of many Moon Coins doesn’t sway him. Basically also because he does not care for Moon Coins either.

He simply makes his way through the underground mall with a little Piplup following in his tracks because why does this animal keep following him?

And just when he has half a mind to return home and be annoyed on his own chaos happens. Suddenly people start screaming and running around like the hysterical idiots they are. There’s a monster stomping around and, just his luck, it seems to be coming his way.]

Arrival

As We Walk in Fields of Gold

[Kisara had felt like she had barely any time to breathe after the worlds merged before she found herself whisked away. Perhaps it was because things just had not had the time to calm down, for the world to settle in this new form with the Dahnans and Renans, that she wasn't quite so alarmed as she was disconcerted.

First things first, find her friends and worry about why she was lacking her armor later.]

Sometimes We Need a Break

[Kisara knew she stood out, but the armor was familiar to her. She at least kept the shield and mace hidden with the Renan technology granted to her. Still, Nightwake City was definitely a bit... much. But not wholly unfamiliar now that she had seen how the Renans live, even if it was during a time of strife.

Still, this all felt too much. She sat down with a heavy sigh, pulling out the phone she was given. She had no idea what this even was, honestly. A little sunflower dangled from the corner and she played with it briefly.]

Is this really what we're supposed to use to communicate?

[Kisara shook her head. She wasn't against learning new technology. But being dumped in a whole other world was not what she had in mind to do it. She really wished Dohalim or Shionne were here. They had a better understanding of this sort of thing.]

Underground Mall

[Kisara was no stranger to cute animals. Hootle was always such a good little bird. And she had seen someone with an owl like creature, so she had hoped she could get the same. It wasn't that she needed a little creature to take care of, but it was better than being by herself in this world.

What she didn't expect was to get a little lizard like creature instead. She was knelt down on the ground, open pokeball one hand as she stared at the thing with wide eyes.

Its little hands seemingly brushed itself off and then it stood in such a regal way that she couldn't help but laugh.]

Oh no, this is too cute. I am going to call you Dohalim. You remind me too much of him.

[She reached out to pet its head. She wondered if it was a boy. Hopefully it was, given she had given it a boy's name.]

Hm, maybe not Dohalim then. What if he arrives? He likely wouldn't be too happy and it would get confusing. [Her smile softened then.] How about Migal, then. Would that be okay?

[It seemed to consider for a moment and then it nodded.]

Good. Now... what do pok-ay-mon eat?

[She closed the ball and it seemed to go back to a smaller size on its own. Huh, convenient!]

Training

[Kisara knelt down with her fingers, ungloved this time, to the earth. She closed her eyes for a moment, concentrating. Then, she stood up and turned to the stack of boxes towards the other end of training arena. She grinned and called out.]

Found you, Migal!

[The snivy she obtained at the underground mall peeked out from behind and sighed. He trotted back over to Kisara.]

Looks like I've gotten better at this seismic sensing, huh? Can't hide from me anymore, little one.

Snivy! [The pokemon huffed indignantly, crossing his little arms. Kisara laughed and stroked the top of his round head. Gosh, this pokemon was so cute!]

[Save the world? Stay tethered to said world by touching people? Woof, yeah, Vero is having none of that, thank you. It’s not like he has pressing matters elsewhere, but just. No. No way? He can’t take that kind of pressure, even if he’s not on his own in it.

Especially not when Olwen glossed over a whole tragedy that cost this world a lot of their previous Seasonal Power Holders. Is he the only one who has a problem with that? Hello??

As soon as he and the group he arrived with are released, Vero walks right past all the helpful stands in order to get himself somewhere secluded. Quiet. He needs to gather his thoughts, breathe, and choose his next step.

His next step just so happens to be to try to get home. If he was able to go to the human world to the monster world he currently resides in simply by stepping through some shadows (not so simply. He had another monster with him at the time that probably helped. But details.) then it should be the same here, right?

So, Vero begins very deliberately stepping on shadows. He looks for big shadows cast by signs or trees or whatever, and steps once. Then steps again, as if he’s expecting to melt right through it. He does similarly with large shadows cast against vertical surfaces. He gives the surface a good slap, then another, and then looks entirely too frustrated when nothing seems to happen.]

Underground Mall

[The last time Vero set foot in a mall was probably when he was around four or five years old. He’s 24 now and, sure, his mama ran an outdoor mall, and he helped her with it a lot of the time, but it pales in comparison to the underground mall he steps into. Her outdoor mall was more like a human farmer’s or flea market, not this. There’s so much noise, so many lights, and just - everything is so much. Vero is both starry-eyed and also terrified.

He ends up drawn to the ufo catchers which he is... surprisingly good at. It doesn’t take him long to figure out the trick to most of them because it’s easy for him to calculate the space and the angles needed to wedge the plushie or whatever he’s after into the right position.

Using his head for this sort of thing is already one of his favorite things to do, and now it's able to keep his mind off the ridiculousness of this situation, so he’s ending up with quite a haul... More than he knows what to do with.

Vero turns to whoever is closest to him as the claw drops another plush trophy into the drop slot.]

Um. Do you want this one?

Pocket Monsters

[Another part of the mall that has caught Vero’s eye are the massive array of vending machines. And Pokemon? Pocket Monsters? Monsters!

Vero jumps at the chance to hold something even vaguely similar to his home in his hands.

What comes out of his Pokeball is a small blue lizard-like creature.

One that promptly begins to cry upon locking eyes with him.]

[ Julieta stepped out of the bustling Arrivals Hall, her mind buzzing with information about this new world she found herself in. With a sense of anticipation, she made her way to the neighboring building where her apartment was supposed to be located. This was the place she would call home, at least for the foreseeable future. She might as well get used to it. Spotting someone who seemed to be going in the same direction she rushed ahead to cut them off and thrust her new phone at them. ]

2. VR
[ She slipped the headset on with focused determination, her hands gripping the controls with practiced finesse. As the simulation initiated, the space around her transformed into a cosmic battlefield. For the first time since she arrived she was comfortable in familiar territory. With each nimble maneuver, she effortlessly evaded enemy fire. Her gaze sharpened, tracking multiple targets with unwavering precision as she unleashed a barrage of laser fire upon her adversaries. Once the explosions faded she removed the device again, looking somewhat unsatisfied. She watched the replay projected onto the wall. ]

It's not very realistic is it.

3. Vending
[ Julieta's hunger got the best of her as she approached the vending machine. Without much thought, she made her selection. As she bit into the mysterious treat, she blinked. The flavor was a strange concoction of artificial sweetness and an odd aftertaste that lingered on her tongue. The once enticing snack now sat heavy in her stomach. She sank down hugging her knees to her chest. Lesson learned, Julieta made a mental note to exercise more caution when venturing into the realm of vending machine treats. ]

4. Casino
[ As she stood at the edge of the bustling casino floor, her attention was fixed on the roulette table. She had no intention of joining the game, as gambling was not her forte. However, something inexplicable seemed to be happening since the moment she approached the table. As she observed the spinning wheel, the ball consistently landed in the player's favor, defying all odds. Whispers of amazement filled the air, and some even started attributing Julieta's presence to the astonishing streak. What she could hear of the comments she brushed off, believing none of it and not caring much for the attention. ]

{ thankfully after a few hours she's calmed down, changed into her normal clothes and is in the underground mall thanks to all the fliers going around. vending machines in japan often had lots of options, even hot food if you found the right one. the delightful thing about this isekai journey seems to be she gets 2 months free rent and some cash to go along with it.

the downside is aqua has no concept of budgeting and will likely spend it all today if someone doesn't stop her. }

Aaaaah, there are so many options!!! { she darts between each vending machine, pressing her face to the glass of each one. some of them look outright weird but then she's drooling over any that look like they have a good snack option in there. her stomach rumbles loudly. }

But I should get something to drink too, right? Right?! { whoever is next to her is getting grabbed by the shoulders whether they like it or not. } Which of these options would go best with alcohol?!

A. Arrival Part 1

[Nel had been enjoying her afternoon nap in the garden of the Somniel when a cold air caressed over her form. Her eyes opened and she was sitting on snow, in the middle of nothing but a white blanket of snow.

Curious. Pulling her hand up off the snow and shaking the biting cold away from her skin, she slowly stood up and let her red eyes scan her surroundings.

There are others around her. Slowly brushing a hand over her pure white dress, Nel moves towards the person closest to her.]

It is best to get up, lest you sit down and freeze to death, little one.

B. Arrival Part 2

[Nel ends up listening to what's being said. Annoyance flashes across her face, but disappears behind a calm exterior. How dare someone yank her away from her brother? How dare someone kidnap her from Elyos and from his side?

She doesn't feel inclined to help when brought to a place and left out in the cold for a long amount of time, but whatever or whoever really is behind this must be powerful.

All she can do for now is to wander outside the center, ignoring the booths and starting to move down the road.

First order of business? Look around and see what the general make up of the city is, and for that? She needs to lose the white clothing so she can blend in better.

The first person to come across her after that is called after.]

C. Exploring the Underground Mall

[After finding her apartment and changing into clothing that's less suspicious, Nel finally starts to wander around and gather information. She doesn't ask outright, but she listens in and there seems to be a bit of chatter about the Underground Mall.

So that's where Nel goes to see if she can figure out what the natives and non-natives are speaking about, and exactly what makes it so exciting.

Quietly wandering, Nel notices the vending machines. She stops and looks at them, wondering exactly they do, so after several seconds she turns to the person nearest her and speaks.]

Excuse me, by chance, do you know what these are?

[She motions to the vending machines.]

POKEYMAN REVOLUTION!

[ If you are interested in obtaining a new Pokefriend, you might find the vending machine somewhat... occupied. That is, there is a young wild-looking man trying to crack open the machine with a switchblade. As you do. He could probably be more stealthy about it but he seems too frustrated and worked up for that.

On the ground, there's a runty Eevee batting around a spare token and making amused noises. ]

[Frazzled. That's the best way that Epel can describe his current state of mind as he stands by the building, clutching his new smartphone in one hand and trying to not look too awkward as he steps away from the friendly native who explained the apartment situation.

It's all a bit much. Just a bit.

Okay, he actually wants to scream a little. But that would not go over well. But it would be understandable, right? He can't have been here longer than an hour or two.

Haven't things been rough enough already, with the campus attacked? He would have liked time to breathe before this whole world-saving business was dumped on him!

It doesn't help matters that he's absolutely drowning in what looks like a white long-sleeved nightgown. As if he didn't already look small and helpless already. He needs to find his clothes. Which means finding his room. And the person he had just talked to was now helping someone else.

So he does the sensible thing: approach the closest other person and try to be polite.]

Um. Excuse me. Would you happen to know how where I can find my room assignment?

[Epel is feeling a lot better now that he's more suitably dressed, even if all he seems to have are his school clothes. Better a jacket and (bow)tie than what he'd arrived in. If he forgets the confusing, harrowing news for a moment, he can almost enjoy being somewhere other than Sages' Island.

He already has a few of those colorful ad pamphlets and tokens that he's managed to stuff into his coat pocket. It's free and other people are taking the freebies, right? As long as everyone else is receiving them, he can't get in trouble! He can be found roaming and sometimes stopping to actually read the various fliers he's been given, trying to figure out how to redeem things for more tokens or "gifts."

It's as he's popping his head into a restaurant to look at the menu that he hears a little congratulatory poppers and rachety sounds as the worker by door hands a gift card to the person directly behind him. Bemused, he offers a small smile.]

...Wow, even free stuff in the restaurants? Congrats?

pocket monsters ~ a beautiful relationship

[He stands off to the side watching several people open the "Pokéball" they receive from the vending machine, fascinated by the fact that little creatures can apparently fit inside of those handheld spheres. Is it some sort of technomancy? They'd have to keep the creatures alive in those things somehow, right? Some of them look kinda cool and others look painfully cute.

While he does eventually go to the vending machine to try his luck, he can be caught just people (and Pokémon)-watching for awhile.

He can't help but hope for a kinda cool creature. All of them were cute, but he'd seen something that looked like a blue crocodile and others that had fire coming off of their backs or tails. (Did this somehow mean that Grim was kinda cool with fire coming out of his ears? Ehh...)

Of course, what he gets instead is an Oshawott. Not that he knows its name. He tries not to voice his disappointment, though it's obvious on his face; it's not the little guy's fault that he'd gotten other ideas--

And Epel immediately squawks in pain when the Oshawott throws its scallop shell right at his face.]

[Rui found a fun slide to the Underground Mall, so of course, he is already loving this place. He's exploring with giddy excitement.]

I'm not sure which to try first. [He's between the VR Arcade and one of the vending machines that seem to serve desserts.] This place truly is amazing, isn't it?

II. Pokemon, I Choose You!

What's this? Some kind of gachapon?

[Of course Rui has to check out what the strange vending machine is. He picks up the red and white ball that comes out of it, and after turning it over in his hands, he presses the button in the middle. It opens with a red light, and a green cat that smelled like flowers appeared. Rui looks between the ball and the cat.]

I'm not sure its responsible to put animals in a vending machine, but hello there.

[The cat mewed out a "Sprig!" Rui looks around for anyone coming to the vending machine.]

I. Time to Game

[Tau is playing VR DDR. For someone who is pretty reserved, her movements are pretty large as she's dancing to the beat. This unfortunately might mean there are some close calls with hitting other people. Perhaps its time for a versus match?]

[Like so many other, Tau has tried out the pokeball vending machine. She's not too far from it now actually. As soon as she found out it gave her a new friend, she moved out of the way and is now playing with her Eevee.]

I. A New Pokemon

[As soon as Lisia saw the vending machine, she knew she had to get one. Ali was getting lonely, so it only made sense to take this opportunity to get a new partner. She opens the ball to see a pikachu appear.]

Oooooh! You are just soooooooo cute! Ahhhh! What should I name you? Pika is a boring name...hmmmm What about Chulie? Like Julie, but with a Chu? Isn't that cute? Hey! You there! [She's pointing to someone passing by.] Don't you think Chulie is a cute name?

[ There's a lot Dimitri has barely had the chance to process: the decisive step he had taken into ending the war, the actualization of his revenge ten years in the making, only to immediately be summoned into his strange land as a call for help. Assuming what Olwen had said is true, Dimitri can't even fully blame these rulers for resorting to every last trick just to save their land and their people, and at any other time he would be happy to be of assistance, but right at such crucial point in his personal crossroads...?

Regardless, it's safe to say he isn't exactly in his right mind... not that he ever is, let's be real. So whether he has walked into the wrong apartment by mere carelessness or was assigned to already occupied quarters by honest mistake, the fact of the matter is that your character may find themselves with a brand new roommate! One that just happens to be... pretty naked, save for the towel wrapped around his waist, his lion suit of armor lying on display on his bed. Or... was it not his bed? Oh well! The bathroom is shared, anyway, so if any unsuspecting roomies stumble into him just as he's making his way out-- ]

Ah, my apologies...! [ The water dripping down his hair and shoulders does nothing to alleviate the red hot fluster across his face. How untoward!! ] Were... these quarters taken?

II. Party in the Underground - part 2
[ Listen. Don't ask him how he got here (spoilers: a local child made puppy eyes at and asked him to) but the fact stands that Dimitri is currently facing off against one of the ufo catchers, not that he... actually knows how to operate it. He's got a quick rundown, and he's at least careful enough to handle the joystick, but from his growing frustration, it seems clear this isn't his first (unsuccessful) attempt. In fact, it may have been several.

So when the fiendish claw rises with the chosen plush only to drop it immediately before the prize compartment? His frustration gets the best of him, and he slams a hand down the control panels.

... and. And manages to break the machine with it, glass cage shattered to dust from the impact alone, damned Blaiddyd strength and all. But hey, it's free plushie estate for all? ]

I... will compensate the shop owner for it, I promise.

III. Party in the Underground - part 3
[ Yes, he's been to the poke ball vending machines. They looked much easier than his previous attempts with the ufo catchers, and the prizes seemed like cute little trinkets, likely to appease a child. He was confident he could do this much!

And he did. Problem is, he's now stuck with a Piplup who, for all intents and purposes, seems to have targeted him like one would to a pokemon opponent, with no-so-friendly pecks of its beak and the occasional bubbles to his face -- perhaps mistaking him for a shiny Shinx? Y'know, yellow-coated lion and all. In any case, and feisty though the little penguin looks, it refuses to leave his side until he gets the message! Whatever it may be! ]

I apologize, but-- [ He's at his wits end here, so he'll approach the first passerby who isn't downright laughing at his torment. ] Are you familiar with these creatures? I truly can't tell what it is that it wants from me...

[ It? Does SHE look like an IT to you, you fool?! ]

IV. Bonus Quest: Smooch Booth
[ Just what it says on the tin: several days after his arrival, Dimitri is manning one of the kissing booths in the city area, breathing a sigh of resignation. Why? It's how he's repaying the locals for his previous property damage -- re: the ufo catcher machine, may it rest in plushies.

Not only that! He's also wearing his lion suit of armor- because apparently the locals heard Faerghans objectify their king for army morale, so clearly! That would net him a generous lot of patrons lining up for royal smooches, right? Win-win for all! ]

Are these truly supposed to taste like food...?

[ ... except for Dimitri, who's stuck raising charity funds by smooching strangers with lips that can't taste any of these balms on display. Guess it's time for a Russian (Faerghan) roulette of bonus effects! ]

[Actually, that didn’t sound like a bad idea. Drifting along until bump, Paimon accidentally collided with someone. Paimon appears like a small fairy-like child who can… float, yes she’s levitating. She quickly drifted away from the bumped person.]

[Who’s that Pokémon! Paimon never tried this random thing before, but here she is. A Squirtle emerged from the ball, smaller than her surprisingly. Paimon smiled happily.]

Once he's snapped to, he starts looking around, concerned, confused, a mild panic on his face before he schools his expression back to just mild confusion as he pats his chest and gazes at his hands, then looking around furtively.]

B. Underground Mall, Part 1

[Ok.

He does need to figure out what is going on and find Kitsuno and that's all very important, but... He can be distracted for a bit. There's still time.

The Demon King has taken every offered pamphlet, flier, and advertisement along with swindling as many people out of the vending machine tokens as he can while pointedly being as unhelpful as he can possibly be.

He can be found most easily in a food court, with a bunch of very strange snacks that he does not seem bothered by, munching on them without even looking at what he's eating as he just starts flipping through all of the reading material, scoffing as he does.]

Eugh. This doesn't seem to be a world I'm familiar with at all.

[Well, at least he doesn't seem to be in any immediate danger.]

C. Welcome To Our Dark Side, Part 1 CW: Implied Cannibalism(No actual cannibalism)

[If The Demon King can't find the seedy underbelly, then no one can. Of course, while he is intrigued by the casino and will make his way there with time, he is more interested in the weird things he can find, and can be found pressed up against one of the stranger vending machines, ogling some of the wares before buying something that LOOKS LIKE a hand.]

I have never seen a machine store that has anything like this in it...

[He seems pretty excited, pulling off a finger and popping it into his mouth and then flinching, wrinkling his nose.]

[And with that conclusion, Gabi is instantly jumping on the Pokeball vending machine, getting herself a ball and opening it up....only for a little guy to pop out. Gabi immediately leans backwards, clearly not expecting that. She squints at the bird for a second and tilts her head.]

Hey -- I thought poke was supposed to be raw fish! [She looks at the inside of the Pokeball, then at the bird...the bird lets out a cooing "Brrrr! Brrrr!" at her and hops closer to her. She rubs her chin.] Alright, well I guess poultry is fine too. I'm not super used to this part. How do you do this without making a mess everywhere. And I guess I gotta cook it myself, too....

["B--brrrrr!?"

The bird suddenly hops back away from Gabi, looking absolutely shocked. Its beak wibbles a couple times as big tears build in its eyes. It hops back up to Gabi's leg and rubs itself against her, letting out more "Brrr! Brrrr!" noises. Gabi bends over and gets real close to him and looks him in the eye with the most flat, unimpressed expression.]

Hey fella.

Do you think you can just butter me up, or something? Like if you shower me in adulation, I'll just decide to not have you for dinner?

[The bird stares at her for a second....then kinda nods its whole body and lets out a simple "Brrrr."

Gabi responds by picking him up and putting him on her shoulder.]

Yeah, well, you got lucky. There was only a 65% chance that was gonna work!

[The little guy has a relieved expression as he wipes his own wing on his brow. He then lets out a couple excited chirps! Truly, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.]

arrival part 3: apartments

{ the entire arrival process has put xiao on edge, from waking up (which is strange in itself, adepti have no need for sleep ~~at least he seems to tell himself that~~) to finding himself in a room of people bustling about, giving explanations to what it means for them to be there. he barely makes it through the message before he's gone in a poof of black and green smoke, only breathing a sigh of relief once he's outside in the street near the apartments. it's still a bit busy, but it isn't as though he knows the area anything like he does home to go further yet.

and this is where he's been told there will be a place for him to stay, but it already looks as though it's too crowded to be of use.

the only one that looks like it could work is the corner of the top floor. it would be the most out of the way, but give a good enough view of things to see if anyone he knows is here.

the problem is, he's been staring up at the top corner in contemplation of whether to bother or not when you bump into him. xiao is quick to make space, but at least he isn't jumpy about it. }

{ it's a few days in when the fall happens, and honestly he's avoided going out for the most part merely to avoid the crowds of people that seem to keep to the city. with good reason. whatever magic is in control in this world, however, has other plans as he's suddenly plummeted down into the underground mall. he's graceful as he falls though, instantly flipping so he'll land on his feet, already summoning his spear on the off chance he's under attack.

i. SPRING ARRIVAL 🌠

[ It's almost a flower field, and for a moment, she thinks that maybe she's made it back home. She's halfway to kneeling down amongst the greenery when the whole reality of the thing hits her and she realizes that despite its familiarity, it's a place she's never actually seen before.

Rinoa sighs, and in the end kneels down for a moment anyway, attempting to ground herself, her eyes tightly shut in a desperate effort to blink back the sudden wash of tears. ]

Looks like it's happening again... [ It's a soft murmur said more to herself than anything else, a sad smile on her lips as she looks around. ] At least there's actually stuff here in this place, right?

...I wonder if any of the others made it here too.

[ A few moments pass before she gets back to her feet, squaring her shoulders in a silent kind of determination before she starts her way across the field, greeting anyone she meets with a friendly expression, perhaps even offering her hand. ]

Hi! I'm Rinoa. Are you new to this place too?

ii. FINDING FRIENDS 🌠

[ It's with a genuine sound of happy relief that Rinoa spies the two animals waiting for her in the building next to the Research Center. She's quick to kneel down, and anyone watching will see a large dog and a strange hybrid creature run to her; she scoops both into a proper hug and the tears in her eyes are visible as she pats and kisses their fur, smiling and laughing. ]

I thought I lost you two... I'm glad you're both here.

[ Still sniffling and with joy written all over her face, she'll be quick to introduce them to anyone who seems even remotely interested. ]

iii. THE MESSAGE 🌠

We have to touch someone, huh...?

[ Perhaps luckily, Rinoa's about the least-opposed person in this room to the concept. In fact, now that she's got a little more understanding about what's going on, the sorceress is quite content to make the rounds of the Arrivals hall, her newly-recovered animal friends at either side of her as she makes an effort to introduce herself to as many people as she can. ]

After all— [ she'll tell all of the other newcomers, smile warm and bright ] —the sooner we become friends, the easier it will be for us to touch each other when we need to, you know?

[ Clearly, the idea is one with which she has no issue. One may notice, however, that there's something searching in her eyes as she looks over the others in the area, as if there's someone, or some people, for whom she's searching in particular. ]

iv. PARTY IN THE UNDERGROUND 🌠

[ If there's a party, then that's where Rinoa is absolutely going to be. Needless to say, she's drawn quickly into the atmosphere of Nightwake, helping out with fliers in between hitting up as many stalls as she can, playing games and trying different foods until her arms and stomach are so full that she's positive she can't carry or eat anything else at all!

Perhaps you bump into her while she's handing out fliers for a spending allowance, offering her ever-irresistible smile as she gently insists on your participation in the festitivies. ("Come on, you have to try," she says, pushing you in the direction of the nearest store. "You might just be the lucky customer of the day!")

Or, perhaps you find her sorting through silly prizes with a laugh, putting headband topped with oversized bunny ears on the head of her very unimpressed canine companion. (Spying your eyes on her, she'll jump up and hand her smartphone to you, a brilliant white daffodil dangling at its side. "Excuse me, but do you mind taking a photo? I don't think I can convince Angelo to wear this for much longer...")

You may also find her holding a Poké Ball in her hands, a muted look of surprise on her face as she considers it, seemingly hesitating before opening it to see what— or who— is inside. ("I've seen one of these before," she's saying to her companions, one of whom is a strange creature with some Pokémon-esque features. "Maybe there'll be someone in here a little like you, Felix.") ]

Rinoa is not only from the end of Final Fantasy VIII, but also CRAU from a game called Tabula Rasa, where she grew a lot as a person and learned to work as more of an individual, as well as making a whole bunch of new friends. The idea of being in a new world is something she's okay with at this point, and even though she's sad about the fact that there's people she misses, she's okay. ]

i. ARRIVAL: SPRING❀

[ A field of flowers, Aerith thinks, is a much nicer place to be than the wilds outside Midgar. No matter where she looks, all she can see is pink and white and yellow and green, and it's soothing, relaxing compared to the dusty, lifeless highway roads leading away from the city. In fact, where others around the place might be wandering and trying to figure out what's going on, she finds herself immediately crouched among the flowers, examining the different kinds and smiling to herself as she talks to them in a whisper—

It's only when the flowers don't try to talk back that she finds herself frowning. Then comes the realization that her clothes have somehow changed, leaving her in white compared to the pale pink she usually wears. And then the realization that her friends are gone, that the people surrounding her in this place, moving through the flowers, are strangers.

It has to be a dream, she thinks, but a sharp pinch of her forearm begets pain, and Aerith's frown deepens.

Is this one of Sephiroth's tricks, then? Or some strange consequence of their defeat of the Whispers?

Her steps are hurried— but careful— as she moves between the flowers, reaching out to the first person she sees, and she smiles in greeting before gesturing around them. ]

Um, excuse me. Do you happen to have any idea where we are?

ii. POWER PRACTICE❀

[ Anyone from Gaia could tell you that it's no surprise that after exploring around the place a little, Aerith's immediate plan is to head to Dayrise with the goal of practicing her new magic. While her own natural abilities give her some minor healing skills— which are in turn enhanced by the Materia she carries— nothing she's ever heard of gives the ability to help plants grow.

She's excited.

There is, of course, also the fact that the skills granted by Spring are what's going to help save this world, and she kind of needs to help do that if she's ever going to make it back home and do her part in saving that world. The more quickly she gets these powers under control, the more helpful she'll be.

(But also, she can learn to make flowers grow.)

The colosseum isn't exactly home to greenery, so for now Aerith is working on her elemental powers, creating swirls of air that lift the tresses of her hair as she laughs. Of course, she's still new enough to this that the occasional gust goes astray, perhaps interfering with someone else who is practicing. If anyone is hurt, either by her stray wind creations or by their own practice efforts, she'll be quick to move to their side, trying to use her seasonal powers to heal any injuries as best as she can. ]

iii. PARTY IN THE UNDERGROUND❀

[ What a welcome it has been! By the time Aerith sits down at a small bench with her brand new Poké Ball in hand, she's exhausted. A day— a night? it's impossible to tell in this place— full of exploring and shopping and searching, not to mention trying all sorts of different foods... it's enough to make a girl forget temporarily about the worries that have been bothering her since she came to in this place. Perhaps whatever companion she meets inside this ball can help with that too. New friends are always nice.

When the ball opens, she's surprised by a cat-sized creature that immediately declares its name— "Eevee!" it says— and bats playfully at her boots before dashing off. ]

H-Hey! Wait!

[ And so it begins: a race through the mall, the naughty Eevee stopping for long enough to let Aerith almost catch it before sprinting off again, joyfully calling its name as it leaves the hapless florist to chase after it. After a while she's forced to stop and catch her breath— just out of reach, Eevee stops too, watching her curiously as Aerith flags down the nearest person she can find. ]

I don't— hah— suppose you know— hah— much about these creatures?

iv. WELCOME TO OUR DARK SIDE (cw: body horror)❀

[ If Aerith finds herself in the lowest levels of the mall, it's by accident, but she's clever enough not to eat or touch anything that might cause her problems— she's from the Slums, after all; she understands the dark better than the average florist her age. Nor does she go anywhere near the Casino and risk getting herself into a spot of trouble with a shady criminal organization. No, Aerith is poisoned purely by accident, an event that passes as nothing to her but the consuming of some sweet treat from an innocent-looking vending machine.

It's not until later, when she's tending a rose, that she pricks her finger, a soft "oh" on her lips as the blood blossoms into a bead on her skin, triggering a transformation into something other. Concealed momentarily by the droplet that rolls off her finger onto the ground, the skin of her fingertips turns a rich fern green, melting halfway up her arms into the eerie, milky-white hue that makes up the rest of her body. Flowers spring from her hair, braid falling out and strands twisting into the mix until it's almost impossible to tell where hair ends and flowers begins. Even her dress seems different, looking now more like something made out of flowers than the soft pink fabrics of before.

If she's called, Aerith looks up, revealing startlingly pink eyes, her brow creased slightly over their unearthly glow. There's no point asking what has happened— a woman who has been a frog knows a transformation when she feels it. But in the absence of a mirror— ]

On a scale from one to ten, how much trouble am I in?

[ She's probably not as concerned as she should be, but that will come later. Maybe. ]

𝒜𝓇𝓇𝒾𝓋𝒶𝓁: 𝒮𝓊𝓂𝓂𝑒𝓇❄

[ This isn't the first time in Elsa's life that she's had an understanding of familiarity from a strange place. The first time she set foot on Ahtohallan, there was a distinct feeling that she had arrived home, that it was the answer to the questions that had been puzzling her for as long as she could possibly remember. And she remembers thinking that that made sense: after all, like her, Ahtohallan is frozen.

This place, distinctly, is not. The sun sitting in the sky is bright, the air hotter than anything she thinks she's ever felt... and Elsa, who classically has never been bothered by the cold, feels more comfortable than she could have imagined.

She feels like she's come home.

And yet this place is not any of the homes she has ever known. It isn't Arendelle, with its beautiful castle overlooking the city. Nor is it the forest, with her second family and friends. It is certainly not the river of ice in which she spends solitary time among the cold and the memories... but somehow, it is still home.

But where, she wonders, is Anna?

That thought among all the others is the one that finally drives Elsa to action, the former queen striking out across the sand and approaching one of the other people she sees, hoping that perhaps they can help her with her newfound dilemma. ]

Excuse me, [ she asks, ] do you happen to know how far we are from Arendelle?

𝐹𝓇𝑜𝓈𝓉𝓇𝑒𝒾𝑔𝓃❄

[ Perhaps it's strange that someone aligned with summer is immediately drawn to the district of Frostreign. In Elsa's case, it just feels normal. The cold is delightful on her skin, the snow crunching deliciously under her feet, and with fewer buildings than other places in the city it's the perfect environment for the Nokk to get a good workout. Where others may be interested in trying the sleigh rides, she explores on the back of the ice-encrusted water horse, and she'll be more than happy to give the curious a chance to ride too, if the Nokk is willing. ]

𝒫𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒫𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇𝓈❄

[ It was going to happen eventually. Elsa, aligned by virtue of birth, with the element of ice, has been granted powers of fire by this world, and even if she wasn't already excited by the possibilities that that holds, she knows all too well that Bruni will not be happy if she doesn't explore his element even a little. And so time eventually lands her in the Colosseum at Dayrise, creating fire out of thin air the same way she would ice and shaping weapons from it that she can hold in her hands.

The powers come more easily than she expected at first, but sometimes an ember or two goes astray, catching something alight that perhaps shouldn't be. If person, Elsa's immediate reaction is to use her natural powers, a light stream of frost to put out the flame. Where the victim in question is an object though, she tries her new powers first, wanting to become fully accustomed to them as quickly as possible.

Sometimes, she's able to pull the fire away from the object and back to her. Sometimes, she makes it harmless, the licking flames turning a soft purple hue. Sometimes, neither of these things work, and she has to resort to her natural powers after all. Either way, each and every moment is a learning experience, and one the former queen seems determined to use to the best of her ability.

Those working near her will be met with polite but distant smiles, although someone catching a mishap in action might receive a somewhat more embarrassed laugh in their direction, the spirit absently running her fingers through her hair. ]

𝒫𝒶𝓇𝓉𝓎 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒰𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇𝑔𝓇𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹❄

[ If she's honest, Elsa isn't really fond of parties. Between the part where she grew up almost entirely in her own company and the part where her last major party ended with her freezing her kingdom for an undisclosed length of time... yeah, parties are something from which Elsa would prefer to stay away.

Despite that, there's an excitement in the air here at Nightwake that is catching, and room for even an introvert like Elsa to try her hand at a few of the games, as well as discover some delicious new snacks to eat.

(The chocolate in particular is amazing, and she makes a mental note that she must tell Anna about it—)

After a busy few hours, she's resting, watching the throngs of people going to and fro. ]

[ —is Gaia's reaction upon finding herself in a barren field of snow and ice. Her first instinct is to assume it's a nightmare, that Ryne-Shiva's powers have spiraled out of control again— which would certainly match up with the fact that she seems to be clad in clothing remarkably like her missing friend's— But Gaia has spent a long time walking the line between what is real and what isn't.

And this? This is very much real, loath as she may be to admit it. Real, and familiar in a way that makes her uncomfortable. ]

I swear to all the gods, if someone is toying with me—

[ It's a muttered grumble as she sets off through the snow in sandals neither platformed like she's accustomed to, nor made for walking through snow; the frost slips between her toes, and she shudders.

Oh, she is going to hate this place. ]

[ Apparently you can just a book by its cover. One holographic image later, Gaia is less impressed with this place than she was when she arrived in a field of ice and snow. She should be back on the First, helping Ryne organize a festival; instead, she's been pulled away to a strange land of seasons, given a world to save after so recently learning she was responsible for the near-destruction of that on which she was born.

Then there's the part where she already has powers she doesn't understand, and this place has seen fit to give her new ones.

And then there's the touch thing.

All in all, Gaia is intensely unhappy. The only thing preventing a full-fledged tantrum is the fact that she has her hammer and necklace back in her hands, along with her own clothes. She's ushered into the stables, too, where she finds a large creature waiting for her, wings flapping idly in the space it has available to it. Gaia's left to stare at it, lips twisted in something between unhappy confusion and disdain. ]

Wicked white... I thought they destroyed you. How did you possibly find yourself here?

[ She doesn't exactly make for a common picture, standing there in a white dress with an overlarge hammer held comfortably in hand as she looks with frustrated disdain at a creature most would likely consider to be a monster; there are no doubt several people who stop and stare, even in the process of gathering up their own belongings. If you're one of them, expect to find yourself fixed with a sharp look, a huff of irritation sounding from painted red lips as blue eyes meet yours. ]

Is there some reason you're staring?

[ Gaia isn't feeling particularly festive right now, and the atmosphere isn't changing that. She has some coins to spend, but none of the vending machines are particularly calling her name; nor does any of the food seem all that interesting to try. She feels like she's mourning a life she barely knew— which doesn't make a lick of sense, but it is what seems to be happening nonetheless.

After some time, a stranger approaches her and starts talking, trying to convince her into attempting at least one of the machines; in the end, if only to shut their mouth, she goes for the nearest one— which just so happens to be the Poké Ball machine. Now she's sitting at a restaurant table, glass of water in hand, while a flame-earred fox prances around in front of her. ]

You are altogether too excitable, [ Gaia says, her voice dry.

The Fennekin sneezes fiery embers into the air in response, and a tiny smile quirks the girl's lips. Between the bright red fur and its cheerful nature, it reminds her instinctively of someone important. ]

I think...

[ She may be lonely, but she is hardly needy enough to start naming animals after the one person in the world whom she calls "friend". Even if it does have Ryne's red hair. ]

[ Why a seventeen-year-old girl thinks she can succeed where others have surely failed, no one will ever know. But once Gaia notices that people are going into the casino and not coming out again, she decides to poke around. But she's not exactly the stealthiest person in the world; in the end, it's no surprise that she's caught and shuffled into the back rooms, a medicine injected into her side that seems to have no effect whatsoever.

The transformation comes later, and it takes her by surprise. Suddenly, she's different. What before were her clothes are now a monstrosity of feathers and Ascians robes melted into her skin, the taloned gloves now as much a part of her as the nose on her face. Her bones feel hollow as her new wings flap, lifting her into the air as her blue eyes fix on anyone near to her, something colder than normal in her expression.

An urge to rip and tear, to sing melodies that will have them fall to the strike of her claws—

Gaia takes a breath, a hint of panic registering behind her expression. ]

Arrival: Research Centre

[Don't mind a suspicious looking woman lurking around the Research Centre chuckling to herself once the new arrival announcement had played. Somehow, despite her delicate features and long white dress giving her the appearance of a Princess, that twisted smirk was certainly an expression more fitting for one as mired in darkness as her.

Of course, this new world came with a new talk from the powers that be, stressing the need for the Otherworlders to save it- ]

Another world, Hm... so, it is possible. And to still remember everything up to this point... hmhmhmm~ Good. Perfect.

Very well, I'll play along, Olwen. Although, you must be a little desperate to want my help.

[A suspicious woman who, evidently, still didn't quite realise the hologram couldn't reply to her.

Perhaps the witch should have been more concerned about this whole other world business - on the contrary, she was more than a little smug that her 'plan' had seemingly worked exactly as intended!

Even now, though, she was not used to being called on this. It was ironic, hailing a woman who had been condemned for the evils of her world a 'hero'. And whilst she tried to mentally dismiss the message as irrelevant to her, she was too selfish to care about the wellbeing of this world after all... The people of Avalon had praised her as such, and that was a little weight she could not entirely shake off.]

Exploring: Zoomies

[By now, Caster had found her apartment and changed into her usual creepy robes, the hood of her cloak pulled up to shroud the top half of her face in shadow. Time to find out if there was anyone she knew around- to see if any of her allies or enemies were here, anyone else who had been called from Avalon, or even...

Ngh, that little ache made her squeeze a hand to her chest.

She didn't want to hope too strongly that this would be the world where she could finally be reunited with her beloved Souichirou-sama, but maybe... maybe...!

She forced those desperate thoughts aside- lest she be drowned by them- and instead turned her mind back to the state of her magic. She had new Seasonal Powers now, it would seem, to take the place of those abilities she'd picked up in Avalon. That did not worry her, she trusted she would be able to master her new powers with little trouble. However, as she summoned her staff to her hand, she was delighted to discover that all the power she had in her own world had come back to her.

Everything else forgotten for the moment, she let herself levitate- yes, yes her powers really had returned!- and then set out gleefully flying at high speed throughout the shadows of the city, freely materialising and dematerialising as she went-

Underground Mall

[By the time she'd gotten that out of her system, she ended up being ushered into the Underground Mall by the enthusiastic natives.]

Well... this place is certainly noisy, isn't it?

[She'd humour them for the time being at least, taking the time to creepily lurk around and investigate the various stores there. Oh, they even had vending machines- Fuyuki had the same, didn't it? Hopefully there would be places to buy furniture and other essentials. She would need a few things to furnish her new Apartment after all, to make it feel even a little more homelike.

...But this isn't home, not really. It never will be.

The cutting voice in the back of her mind made her wince, and all at once, the rush of fatigue hit her like a wave. It was- it was exhausting. Everything about this realm, about this noisy and busy Mall, about jumping worlds. And truthfully, for all her earlier bragging, she couldn't even claim she'd really 'chosen' to come to this one of her own will at all, could she?]

...five countries across three worlds, hm...this is so tiring. Ngh...

[A small mutter as she leant against one of the vending machines in a daze. Her mana would need taking care of, too...]

Arrival - Summer

[ The last thing he remembered was turning around, followed by a sharp pain, and then darkness. He thought he died but when he opened his eyes, took a sharp breath, and laid his eyes on the world before him……it only firmly affirmed his belief that he was indeed, very dead. ]

Well, this is certainly something.

[ Was all he could say as he stared out at the endless blue ocean. Each breath was soft but deep as couldn’t help feeling oddly whole. ]

This is not at all what I was expecting. Feeling….whole?

[ He said to himself out loud as he lifted his hand up and….promptly slapped himself across the face, immediately wincing in pain. ]

Ow! Bloody hell! Ow! Fuck! That smarts! [ A beat. ] Wait, that means I’m not dead.

Arrival - Apartment

[ He had questions and they were....promptly answered by one hologram. Huh.

He feels like he was robbed of something but at the same time, not. Noah was quick to get over this strange feeling but not the sense of being incredibly out of place and worried for various reasons.
