More blood spilled. Reiner has no idea. Not as much for Eren as Levi and Hange have seen; only in his head, the future he hasn't lived but cannot stop (will not stop?), oceans of it he will never be free of. Even sliding into other realities hasn't changed that much.
Eren isn't actually all that good at talking either. He's good at half-truths. He's good at sliding away from things. He's still good at screaming, sometimes. Regular conversations aren't his strong point, and one like this is a terrible idea. That's why he asked for the restaurant, somewhere both public and still underground.
Underground, in a fistfight, he will almost certainly lose. He knows that and so does Reiner. Above ground, a lot of people could die if they clash, the lightning crash of titans, death, destruction.
Underground, Eren could do that anyway. But he's not actually sure he wants to give that information away. (Also Levi will never forgive him.)
He sees Reiner's eyes flick down to his mouth and he lets his lips curve, a lazy sort of smirk forming on his face. He runs his tongue along his bottom lip, because he absolutely can't resist the urge to push any way he can even when they can't just duke it out, then turns away. It's a tiny victory but it still counts in his head.
"Come on," he says, walking back to where he saw the restaurant. It isn't far. Reiner could leave, just ghost him, but he knows Reiner better than that.
The restaurant is near something called a food court (a what!), set up with a bunch of food places for ordering and a common area where people pick tables and eat. It's really the most public they could be, but Eren's not worried about people listening to them. No one here has context for their world, so anything they say can just be said.
He finally stops at the counter and glances sideways, looking for Reiner again, so sure he'll find him there.
