Yes, one reason Polteageist is known as the Black Tea Pokémon- it is even said that Sinistea came to be from a lonely spirit possessing a cup of black tea that was left out and grew cold. [He couldn't help that even after so many years he still found pokémon fascinating and wonderful, and perhaps it showed in how he spoke of any of them.]

I believe it's the best way as well, it encourages them to pursue their own interests, to grow in ways they wouldn't be able to kept in a classroom- that has its place of course, but there is merit in allow any student that chance.
