From the beginning, Wei Wuxian has taken to spending at least a few hours a day with Lil' Apple, quite often taking him throughout both Sunwaning and Stormreach, finding comfort with the small ways here and there that remind him more of home. He's been acclimating relatively well, all things considered, but still only so much will help.
Today he's come as he always does, with a sizeable basket hanging off his arm, filled with some fresh grasses and juicy ripe apples. Lil' Apple has very obviously become used to such royalty treatment, when really it's more of a way for Wei Wuxian to keep the animal appeased than simply well fed. He's yet to put up a fuss.
Said basket of treats is immediately snatched up by Lil' Apple when his keeper similarly comes to a sharp pause, as Wei Wuxian all but drops it.
". . . Lan Zhan. . .?" His voice trembles.
One step. Another. Wei Wuxian stumbles, his heart stuck in his throat as he all but barrels into his husband, diving into his arms. All four of his limbs immediately reach out to wrap around Lan Wangji, pulling himself in snug and close and safe.
"It's you, it's you!!" Elated as he may sound, it's equally obvious that he's begun to cry.
