I was thinking the same thing. (Seeing Ahsoka is a gift she thought impossible. Padmé would never ask her friend to risk her life in order to meet with her.)

Ani...went through a hard time. He lost his mother and his arm. I've loved him for awhile, but I didn't want him risking his place with the Jedi. Then I saw that he needed me. He bared his heart to me and I just... I want to support him. I want to spend my life loving him and giving him the family he deserves.

(Code or not, she knows the Jedi aren't doing what is best for their people. Maybe the code doesn't make sense anymore. What's wrong with love? What's wrong with bringing a new generation into the galaxy?)
