Song Lan comes across the distressed young man as he's making his way through the snow. He's been needing to clear his head and the cold winter air had seemed like it'd be perfect for that. He can't ignore someone in distress however, and so he approaches the man, stopping at a polite distance before speaking.

"You do not have to die to end up here," he says as reassuringly as he can manage, "Albeit some do."
