MK watched Red Son with a confused smile. The expression was not one he really remembered seeing on his friend's face. Then he turned for the door and fell to his knees. MK moved behind him and gently grabbed a shoulder. He stared for a moment, unsure of what to say. What to do. Red Son said its okay buy why did he sound so...distant? It wasn't bad yet it wasn't super happy either?
MK stared for a long moment. He sucked in a deep breath and dropped the acting dumb for once. Red Son didn't need a joke or him being silly right now. Not when he looked like that. Sounded like that.
"Yeah. It's all okay now. We fix it, Red Son. We fixed everything. We left it better than it was."
Was it a lie? Maybe a little. Some part of it was. Yes, they saved the world. They made sure reality and the universe didn't get destroyed.
But not everyone was saved. No everyone made it through to the other side. And part of MK was sad.
Another part wasn't.
"I wasn't going to leave everyone trapped in there. Not when it was my fault the scroll got opened in the first place. I fixed my mistake. ...I'm sorry, Red Son."
