Winter Arrival Its a strange sensation, to feel at once she belongs, and knowing she absolutely Does Not. She stands in the snow, unbothered by the temperature, walking along without any concern for the environment itself.
This place is not her home. This is not her ice. And yet, there is a feeling that she should be here. Its a curious thing.
However, should she find she is not alone, that is cause for concern, and she will approach. "Are you all right?" Her voice is flat, emotionless, as is her expression, but she asks all the same.
The Message Albinia listens intently to the message, a hand on her chin as she takes in the information. Its a disturbingly familiar plea, but at least this isn't a dying world in any sense of the word. At least not a near death state. Perhaps it would be in some decades, depending on what this history and darkness was.
Still, the world itself...that is of interest to her. Perhaps if she could understand it, it would allow her to help her own. To avoid repeating mistakes.
That was her train of thought, at least.
Until Olwen brings up the touch condition, and her largely impassive face goes...quite red. Whether she's blushing that much, or it just stands out on her pale features, its hard to say, but it is certainly noticeable.
Housing Well, at least she understands logistics. That's simple enough to address. Find where she is staying, see what she needs, and what resources she has.
"I'll need to check the insulation..." She murmurs to herself. Which, well, anyone who gets close to her will notice the air is a little cooler around her.
Party Albinia is not much of a party person. She's attended them, of course. Mostly when her sister or Tare decided to draw her along, or the few times where she decided it was warranted for her own people.
Or when the New People invited her to their parties.
She still struggles to understand why.
However, she is still trying to understand where she is, so she dressed up in something white and layered and pretty, as she knows to do, and has chosen to attend. She isn't one to drink while on her own though. She does, however, find some enjoyment in putting things together, so has taken to making the miniature furniture, making a steadily growing pile nearby. She'll give them to the fairies. Eventually.
Testing ...listen, she isn't actually part of any official research group yet. She just saw people were doing testing and she just kind of...
Joined in.
Old habits die hard. She's even in a lab coat over the pretty clothes she's still in from the party. She has a plate full of mushrooms, and will be holding them out to people. "Are you interested in furthering our understanding of these mushrooms?" For those more perceptive, there may be the tiniest hint of excitement on an otherwise cold face.
Cordyceps When it was realized that some of the mushrooms had mind control qualities, Albinia did feel...rather guilty. She didn't want to enslave anyone, and she felt she had to correct the action. It had been clear trying to forcibly stop the people wasn't doing much, so she went about trying to find a cure.
Its amazing how easy it is to slip in and out of research groups when one has been doing as such for millennia. By the time anyone realized they didn't know who she was, she was gone again.
So once she had what would hopefully work, she headed off for the mushroom sanctuary to collect the necessary Translucent Cordycreps.
Rescue Albinia would say she is not much of a liar. She actually detests the practice. However, she is not a fool. She knows she is a hard person to read, and that in many ways can lead to deception.
Usually misunderstanding, but in this case, it is a deception. She allows her blank face and calm demeanor to do their job, to make her look like she's supposed to be here. She'll even pick up tools to help the expansion. Until she can get close to those who are overtaken.
She will tap one's shoulder. "You should keep up your strength. Snacks are important for such," she said, holding out the translucent cordyceps. It would be easier if people ate them on their own.
And if not...well, she's not above shoving them into people's mouths.
((As a note, Albinia is a goddess, and an old one at that. Her domains are over ice, science, and responsibility. So if people feel that sort of thing, they'll notice. She'll also be highly interested in people who have a large affinity for one of those domains.))
