[The sudden hug catches him off guard a little. At first he wants it to end as soon as possible because he really doesn't like to be touched or to be at the receiving end of someone's affection but then he realizes that he cannot do this to his other self.
So all he does is stiffening into the hold and pulling a very uncomfortable face.
Oh, he definitely doesn't know how to do this anymore. His ability to care for another (or himself, for that matter) has been long gone. And he can't get himself to move and return the hug. Not even to the version of himself who deserves all the hugs, love and care.]
Listen. [And this time there's a bit of a desperate undertone to his voice.] This is not about me or how sad I am or not. [Slowly he manages to squirm out of the other's hug and its obvious he's very bothered now. And mostly, when he's bothered, he starts to chuckle as if everything is just some sort of big, cosmic joke.] Its absurd to... [He doesn't finish the sentence and takes some time to recollect his thoughts.]
What will make me happy is to know that you will not become like me. So I ask of you to do just that.
