[Kalim listens intently, and in trying to imagine what it's like, the images of his overblotted friends does come to mind... Something like a poison that robs one of their senses, sending them into a frenzy that's difficult to overcome. Difficult, but not impossible.

In defeating the apparitions that appeared alongside the overblotters, they were able to cleanse their friends of the impurity. As far as Kalim knows, there isn't any residual effect to either party for having done so. In other words, in Xiao's case, that taint isn't able to be cleansed but rather, only transferred? That just doesn't sound right, though.

But maybe that's just because Kalim wants to believe otherwise. Of course, his desire to believe in it is strong enough that even if it's presented to be impossible, he'll keep searching for a solution. There just has to be a way!]

That's just so unfair... You put yourself at risk to protect others, but you're saying there's nothing that can be done to help you? I just have a hard time accepting that. There has to be some way to cleanse it once and for all.
