That humanity hadn't perished. That there are things like flying boats and ice cream. That being Commander sucked. That now they are in a new world and alive and Levi is here and oh they should go find him immediately, he would want to be here--
It's the little laugh that pulls Hange out of that whirlwind of thoughts, and there's something about Erwin's expression that reminds them of those final moments before appearing here on Ellipsa's beach. When Hange was certain they were already dead but Erwin and their many other fallen comrades appeared before them, proof that they really had been watching over them all along. Peace in those final moments.
It's the same look he had when Hange began chastising him for all the drama they had to put up with being the next Commander, something equal parts amusement and contentment. Hah.
So in similar fashion...
"You know, I really had my hands full after you left and dumped that Commander's role on me! You'd better be ready to hear all about!"
It isn't said with any tension or malice, instead Hange is laughing about it, letting go of his sleeves to instead throw a friendly arm loosely around Erwin's shoulders.
"I thought for certain I was going to get early greys from it all. How did you not go bald from the stress." Gasp. it was a joke, but a revelation just occurred- "Don't tell me- is this a wig?!"
