Jean looks at his own mask. "In a way, it's nice when no one knows who you are. So if you're carrying a lot of expectations, you can just blend in," he says with a shrug. "But neither of us have that in this world, so it's probably just weird to us."
Not that Jean had that problem back home, either. Other than being a member of Survey Corps since that seemed to be some sort of target for attention. But Eren was the 'hope of humanity'. At least from where he's from.
