Test Drive Meme #10

Test Drive Meme #10
LOGS | NETWORK | OOC | MEMES | NAVIGATION
You arrive in an unknown space, dressed in white clothes (player choice what kind of clothes, as long as they cover everything). Whatever was happening to you before no longer happens. It's like everything was put on a pause and you were transferred away from the situation without you realizing it happened.
The space that you find yourself in is one of these four options:
An empty landscape filled with snow and ice, almost like a blank canvas.
A field with cherry blossom trees and spring flowers.
A sunny beach near an ocean that seems never ending.
A quiet forest with falling autumn leaves.
All of the spaces seem to continue endlessly. No matter where or how far you walk it almost seems like you're not moving at all. There are no animals here - just those who happened to wake up there at the same time, in the same place. Everyone is wearing the same kind of plain, white clothes.
Despite the possible rollercoaster of emotions you might be feeling, the place somehow feels familiar. Like somehow you belong there.
And it looks like you're not alone.
After half an hour has passed the surroundings change as everyone is teleported into a room with all the other new arrivals, no matter what space they woke up in. It's a large place with plenty of seats to sit in and beverages to enjoy. Medical attention is offered to those who need it and the doctors here are very prepared for any challenging situations.
Here, in this room, everyone gets an answer to where they are and why. A hologram of a man appears at the center of the room, waiting to be heard. He brings a message on behalf of the leaders of Ellipsa (someone near the hologram mumbles that Olwen still hadn't sent them a new message, even if he talked about updating it).
The Message [ Click to Expand ]
Hello, my name is Olwen. I'm one of the leaders of Ellipsa as it currently is. I'm also one of the four who summoned you here.
Our world is in trouble and we need your help. I apologize for tearing you away from your world and forcing you to come here but I hope you understand. The magic we used doesn't let us ask in advance, nor does it let us choose who we bring here.
This world is composed of four Seasonal Segments. All of them represent one of the seasons. They were the places we used to get our resources from, but now they're dangerous places no one should go into unless they have the power to fight back. All of them have their own sets of powerful monsters and natural catastrophes.
We used to have plenty of people here who could control the powers of the four Seasons. We called them Seasonal Power Holders. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy you can read about later, we lost almost all of them. Now only four of us remain and the world is in chaos. We have done our best to protect the world, but we need more power holders to do that.
That's where you come in.
All of you have been assigned to one of the seasons. Whatever space you were in just now is what season you represent. You will learn different skills based on the season and those skills are going to help you save this world.
These powers don't interfere with your own natural powers. They use a new energy that has formed inside of you. It's harmless to your health, but it's vital to your seasonal powers. Your own powers should still work, even if the dark energy outside the city might interfere with them.
Unfortunately bringing you here wasn't as simple as it sounds. We couldn't do anything about how to keep you anchored to this world other than making a simple spell that helps with it. That is, you need to touch someone else who is not from this world ideally at least once a day. It will help you stay in control of your powers and boost your magical energy. If you don't, the consequences aren't very good. But as long as you hold someone's hand or give someone a handshake, you should be fine.
That's all I have to say about the situation. The staff of the Research Center will give you more information about housing and other necessary things. I will, however, promise that you will be sent home once the situation becomes better. That's the least we can do.
The hologram can be viewed in private in a separate room later, should someone wish to look at it again. For now, the staff of the Research Center hands everyone their new smartphones with their small flower lucky charms (the flower is anything the player decides). They're also told that the building next door is where everyone can find a room assigned to them with some of their belongings there and possibly even any animal companions. Those concerned about their mount-sizes companions are welcomed to the stables downstairs to see if their friends are there. The mounts are allowed to stay there until you find a place more suitable for them.
In the Arrival's hall there are also several stands with information pamphlets.
First type of stand is for the local Guilds and about the benefits or joining one.
Second type of stands is for the Welcome Center that aim to show otherworlders what the world is like and help guide people in the beginning of the journey and helps in getting settled into the new world. They even have people to help if you're unfamiliar with the new phones.
Once you get your smartphone and necessary information, you're urged to go out and find your apartment. After that whatever you want to do is up to you.
Part 3
The building next door is where everyone can find their new apartments. As you enter, you're told by a friendly native that for the first two months you can live anywhere rent-free and five meals a day are paid for you. After that they get a monthly payment that helps with some of their living expenses, but otherwise they have to have a job to support themselves.
All of the apartments are comfortable, two bedroom apartments with all necessary utilities. They are also completely soundproof. Sometimes the magic system, however, does glitch and you might find yourself rooming with a stranger. This is not the intention and the staff will immediately prepare you your own room if you ask them. But maybe having a roommate isn't all that bad?

To commemorate the success of the Frozen Falls mission, another, a lot bigger, party is being thrown for the masses at the southern beaches of the Great Ocean Lake! The guild leaders and influencers have put a lot of effort into setting up a lakeside shindig for character's enjoyment; this is also a chance for them to show off the increased safety for the zones around Nightwake. However, the hosts aren't the guild leaders - they're much too busy for that. Instead, a group of mysterious creatures known as the Odder Otters are hosting this hootenanny!
Make sure to put on your best swimwear, and remember your sunscreen, before you head down to the lake! It's been filled with chairs and tables for characters to set up at, though you're welcome to bring your own as well. The water jousting beam makes a triumphant return, fondly remembered from Yoimiya's beach party the previous year. Have a friendly battle in the deeper waters of the lake - or maybe it's time to get watery revenge on a rival. Just don't break any noses on the inflatable poles, please. There's also a section of the beach that's been cordoned off, full of inflatables of all kinds of creatures, mythical or otherwise, to lazily float on. The floating fence stops you from going over Forever Falls on an impromptu rapids ride thankfully!
Posher Otters are manning various activities that are not directly on the water further down the beach. There's some dunk tanks set up with volunteers for characters to win lake and otter themed prizes at. Feel free to volunteer for a chance at a bigger reward - and if you show up at the right time, maybe you'll get to dunk a guild leader or two into the water. Try your hand at the shooting gallery - can you score a perfect ten? If you're feeling really brave, there's also bungee jumping near Forever Falls for an extra adrenaline rush.
The city guard is also on patrol, making sure any errant monsters drawn in by the noise are taken care of. If your character isn't the type to chill out but is the type to stand guard, you'll be compensated for helping!
Some of the Abroader Otters are offering (human-sized) rods for characters to try out fishing! They'll tug on your socks, sandals and the hems of your shorts to get your attention and lead you away from the crowd to a quieter spot. If you're more the type to go for a hands on approach, you're welcome to use your hands (or mouths), and magical powers, to catch some fish (or mussels) for the Otters. Try not to freeze the lake over like the other one!
Any fish caught can be fed to the Otters themselves for their undying devotion, or brought over to where some grills are being manned to feed the masses. Fresh caught seafood isn't the only thing on the menu today; for those of the vegetarian or vegan persuasion, there are separate grills cooking a variety of things like large mushrooms, peaches, pineapples, mango - anything you can think of - as well as potatoes, sweet corn and peppers.
Plenty of juice stands, water fountains, and shaved ice machines are on hand to combat the Summer Segment's heat. Feel free to try that fruit smoothie you've been dreaming about... and there's also a stand of Otters serving cocktails and mocktails for those who'd rather lounge around with a cute little umbrella drink in hand.
As it gets darker, the Otters collect stones and driftwood to set up bonfires for characters to stay warm at. There is also a variety of foods to cook - from more savory hot dogs or pineapples, to sweets like marshmallows for s'mores. Eventually, characters will be treated to a magic fireworks show - all of the lights and spectacle, with none of the boom! It's a retelling of the Frozen Falls mission, with students from the Magical Manor showing off their sweet storytelling skills and sublime magic. For characters interested in making their own light show, sparklers are on hand that explode into various designs representing each Season when they finish: pink spring flowers, green summer suns, orange fall leaves, and blue winter snowflakes. These do make some noise, so be careful with them!
Eventually, characters can hop onto an airship and sleep on the way back into Nightwake after a day well spent - or perhaps brave the lake if they'd like to camp. The city guard will be on hand to keep anyone who's interested in an impromptu roughing it safe.

Also regarding fishing, what kind of fish can they find in particular? Are there any specific varieties that are special to this area?

Lilith/Samael | OC | Winter ... take 2
why use a fishing rod when you can cheat? there's a tall, skull-mask wearing woman standing directly on the surface of the water a ways out from the shore, head cocked to one side as she eyes the depths. one sharp hand gesture later, and a globe of water shoots up with a fish neatly caught in it, which she snatches before it can fall back in.
once she's made her way back to land, into a bucket it goes. she pushes the mask back to wipe at her face with her other hand. ]
This is a little nostalgic...
[ b
later, she can be found at the cookout, nibbling on a gooey marshmallow ]
It's good...?
[ ...despite that, she looks a little uneasy, for some reason. ]
[ c
wildcard! or you can spot her wandering the city somewhere— being six feet tall and wearing a giant snake skull for a mask means she does stand out. ]

C - Wildcard!
[A voice calls during the festivities of the day. A man sits in one of the dunk booths. He has a drink in his hand with a small umbrella in it. He's dressed for the weather in a Hawaiian shirt, lay, and shorts. His teeth all sharp and his heterochromia eyes focus on Lilith as she walks by. A pair of small horns sticking out of his hair. He stands out too, like she does.]
You enjoying the festivities? Why not come play a game, win some prizes? You throw the ball, hit the target, and dunk me in the water. Sound fun? You look like you might not get a lot of fun. No offense meant, of course.
I just don't know too many people wearing skull masks who are lives of parties.

Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish Part 2
Nine was conflicted, part wanting to see what the big deal about a celebration like this, but also because a small victory like this just meant there was more work to be done to ensure the safety of his new home. Between those two parts of his indecision and the feeling of really not belonging somewhere so upbeat, it was hard to naturally take in the lively atmosphere properly.

Esme Faulkner || Changeling the Lost || Autumn - Player in Game
After everything that had happened with the weird simulation and the CD, waking up in an unfamiliar forest wasn't something to stay calm about. But it wasn't good to panic and take off either, so Esme did something in-between. He looked around, listened, and tried to slow his pounding heart. For now it seemed to be just him, but that wasn't exactly a comforting thought. Ever.
"Max?" he called out tentatively, hoping he would get an answer. "Eliza? Con Doe? Damien? ...Robin?"
When no familiar voices answered him, he lowered his voice. "Rusty, I don't like this. Do you have any idea what's going on?" There was no answer, and it was only then that he realized his clothes were different. No jeans and a hoodie, which meant no helpful rat to help guide him. No Rusty Teeth meant he was truly alone. He didn't know where he was, and he was all alone. Why?
They're all going to leave you.
The panic set in and Esme sank to the ground, hiding his face in his knees as he pulled them up to his chest.
Arrival 2
Most of the hologram just wasn't sinking in for Esme. He had even replayed it. Being brought here by a power so strong that it could pull him from his new home? It was like being taken all over again...but because these people needed help. What could he do though? He couldn't really fight, or think of good plans. He wasn't a doctor or smart, or strong. He was just...him. Anyone else would have been better.
Eventually one of the helpful staff nudged him toward the stables and he was immediately greeted by a wyvern-like dragon butting its head against his chest. "Never Ever, you're here too. Did...you see anyone else? Rusty?" Never Ever grumbles softly. "No? Hmmmm...well, you're here. We'll be okay."
Hearing footsteps behind him, he looked over his shoulder. "Oh...are we in your way?"
Arrival 3
Convincing the greeter to allow a motorcycle-sized dragon into the building with him wasn't easy, but it wasn't too difficult either since it was that or him sleeping out in the stables too. And no one wanted that. Finding the apartment on his own was a much bigger challenge. He'd been in two other apartments and a hospital, but for all of them he was with people who knew where they were going and didn't really need to pay attention. Now he went from door to door, comparing numbers. At least he was on the right floor?
Odd, Odder and Otterly Cute 1
Esme had never been to a festival this big before. There were trips to the market, and then his first Thanksgiving, but nothing like this. It was amazing and a little overwhelming, but he did enjoy the atmosphere. It was a good pick-me-up, and it took very little coaxing to try out an inflatable on the water and just to float along. But floating along meant eventually bumping into another inflatable.
"Oh. Hullo, are you...enjoying yourself?"
Odd, Odder and Otterly Cute 2
Dunk tank? It was definitely harmless-looking, but Esme somehow couldn't really rationalize dunking someone in the water for fun and prizes. He did want one of those otter plushies though...
The obvious solution was to volunteer to be dunked then. He didn't need to pointlessly feel bad, because even he knew he was being silly, and someone else could have fun. Then they both got a prize. Win-win, as his friends would say.
Sitting up there was a little intimidating though, so he watched the people go by while he sat, taking in the cheerful atmosphere. This was fine, all for fun.
Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish 1
Fishing. Esme liked to fish, and it was a nice break from all of the noise. Him and a cute otter friend. Were they friends? Maybe. He hoped so. The otters were all so nice.
On the ground between them were three decently-sized fish and one skeleton, because why wouldn't he provide for his new friend?
As he enjoyed the calm and the quiet company, he absently began to sing.
Lenten ys come with love to toune,
With blosmen & with briddes roune,
That al this blisse bryngeth;
Dayes eyes in this dales,
Notes suete of nyhtegales;
Uch foul song singeth.
The threstelcoc him threteth oo;
Away is huere wynter wo,
When woderove springeth.
This foules singeth ferly fele,
Ant wlyteth on huere wynter wele,
That al the wode ryngeth.
The rose rayleth hire rode;
The leves on the lyhte wode
Waxen al with wille.
The mone mandeth hire bleo;
The lilie is lossom to seo,
The fenyl & the fille.
Wowes this wilde drakes;
Miles murgeth huere makes,
Ase strem that striketh stille.
Mody meneth, so doth mo;
Ichot ycham on of tho,
For love that likes ille.
The mone mandeth hire lyht,
So doth the semly sonne bryht,
When briddes singeth breme;
Deawes donketh the dounes,
Deores with huere derne rounes
Domes forte deme;
Wormes woweth under cloude,
Wymmen waxeth wounder proude,
So wel hit wol hem seme,
Yef me shal wonte wille of on,
This wunne weole y wole forgon
Ant wyht in wode be fleme.
Really he just wanted a few more fish, maybe four. Then he'd have five to grill and one extra for his otter friend.
Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish 2
Bonfires were pretty familiar, it was really easy to just enjoy the food...mostly just the hotdogs, since he'd never seen pineapple or marshmallows...definitely not s'mores. Hot dogs were cheap and plentiful, or so he'd been told, but they also tasted good and that was the most important part.
The fireworks were...something completely different. Esme had never seen anything like them before and was immediately transfixed on the explosions of colors and shapes that lit up the sky. It was beautiful, something that felt like it could only be experienced once. So he didn't want to miss it, not a single second. And in the moment, he was almost completely content.
It was only a shame the night would have to end eventually.
Arrival - Part 1
That was until he swore he hard his name on the wind. He followed in the direction of a heartbeat. The pace was fast and tune sad. He would know that song anywhere. The leaves crunched under his feet as he walked up to Esme. One blue eye and one green looked down at Esme with concern. He put a hand under his chin. Esme wasn't as he last say him. No. This was him as he was once. The Esme that won and stole Max's heart way back when.
"Hey, why the long face? You're not alone," He said softly to the Lost. "I'm here now."

Pepper // OC // Spring
[Pepper doesn't know how to swim, and this was his first time actually going for a dip in the water. He lives near water usually, but he's always been told not to jump in if he doesn't know how to swim. So that's why he's excited as can be to be kicking his little feet in the water while an inflatable turtle keeps his torso afloat. Though he's... horrible at it. He only seems to be spinning around rather than going in any direction, and it's starting to annoy him!]
Why isn't the turtle moving..? Isn't it supposed to swim?
[He.. thinks the inflatable is alive.]
2.
Hey, c'mere! Yoohoo!!
[He whistles to get your attention, and when you look at him he's sitting in a dunk tank with a huge grin on his face. His hair and clothes are soaked, as it's obvious he's been dunked a few times and he's waving his arms excitedly when he meets your gaze.]
My prizes are really, really good! And I get prizes too when you hit the target!
3.
[It's time for the bonfire and Pepper is still just as energetic and excited as this morning. Maybe.. a little bit more, considering the cocktails he's been drinking. He's new to being alive but he's not a stranger to alcohol, and he loves how it makes him feel like he's flying.
He has this huge grin from ear to ear, and two sparklers in his hands. And he's dancing around the bonfire without a care in the world, running and jumping around to make sparkling streams in the air. While he's dancing, he'll notice a few people sitting alone and will approach whether they want him to or not.]
Dance with me!
[He holds a sparkler out, the lights making his eyes glow.]
3
[Rinku happily dances and claps, humming along as she goes.]
You think this needs music too? There's gotta be a stage and an outlet for my booth somewhere! Or maybe not, but that's okay!

Frieda Reiss | Attack on Titan | Spring | In-Game
Part I
[Frieda loves the Great Ocean Lake, and seeing its beach filled with cheerful people is wonderful. She's especially happy that this way, the land-dwellers and lakefolk can celebrate the partial victory against the Darkness together! A number of mermaids and -men and, given the recently established peace, even sirens have journeyed to the surface to observe the human(oid)s. Frieda gathers up as much food as she can into waterproof containers, looking like a shameless person loading up on freebies - until she waves at the nearest person]
Do you want to help me bring it out to them? They don't get to try food from the land often!
Part II
[There are so many games here... dunk tanks and shooting galleries, and bungee jumping too! Right now, Frieda is torn between the former two attractions.]
I wonder if I should volunteer for the dunk tank... I'd wear my Mermaid Necklace, too! They should give one to every volunteer, honestly; that'd be a huge extra draw!
[As if everyone cared as much about people's mermaid transformation as she does!]
Oh, and have you seen all the prizes? Is there anything you'd like to win?
2) Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish (Downer Edition)
[In between afternoon and night, something happened. Frieda, who got no response to her messages and eventual calls to Historia, whom she'd originally wanted to go to the party with but whose absence at departure time indicated that she got tied up in something else, used her Travel Crystal to return to the city. When she found their apartment still empty and, on closer inspection, her sister's belongings from home gone, she felt cold dread creep up her spine. She looked for Historia, called her phone again and again... but nobody answered.
Eventually, when night has already fallen, she decides to return to the party in hopes of somehow finding her there having fun and simply not having heard her phone. She teleports back to the airship station and arrives back at the beach to see bonfires and barbecues out in full force. While she accepts a mocktail from a friendly otter, feeling parched, she doesn't think she can eat a single bite with how tight her throat feels.
When she still has no luck finding her sister anywhere by the time the silent fireworks show begins, she defeatedly sits down in the sand and watches the retelling of the big expedition that led to the expansion of the habitable world - something she and Historia were so happy about and so proud of. Her eyes are starting to sting.]
Historia... I hope you're seeing this.
1.1
A pity. He'd hoped he'd died a slow painful death. It would appear that he must not have broken his spine as he'd intended.
Just as Jade had noticed the Siren from their encounter beneath the waves, the Siren also noticed him. They proceeded to both stare at each other, unblinking. Even as Frieda loaded Jade's arms up with containers. Not that is was odd for him to go on high alert when the sirens were near, but on this special occasion Frieda could probably hear what sounded like a combination of a low grumbling hiss and some clicking or knocking noise coming from Jade.
Jade wasn't often one to openly vocalize his distaste, but Frieda would have heard the occasionally growl or hiss in his merform. Yet he was not currently in his merform, and the sound wasn't like usual hissing and growling where it came from his throat- this seemed to be reverberating through his whole chest, like the deep growl of an angry cat. Not that the sound could carry that far out of water with the clamor of current festivities, but it was the thought that counted. While it was entirely likely the Siren he was glaring at was doing the something similar.
Who knows what kind of conversation they could be having?]

Toshirou Hijikata | Gintama (+ Prismatica & Isle of Avalon CRAU) | Summer | In-Game
Part I
[Another beach party, bigger even than the last one? Sign him up!! If they're able to hold it out here at the Great Ocean Lake, that proves that they've made progress, doesn't it? Hijikata enjoys the cheerful sunny atmosphere, but naturally, the water jousting beam draws his attention more than anything else. Before long, he steps onto it and grabs an inflatable pole!]
Who's brave enough to challenge me?!
Part II
[After some hours of fun, Hijikata's volunteer shift begins. He patrols the outskirts of the party zone on the far side of the Great Crossing, the grassland in between the beach and the Lava-Ridden Lands... and promptly encounters a lava monster approaching from the latter area. The large blob of rock and lava is coming right towards him, and he curses under his breath.]
You've got to be shitting me. Of all things..!!
[His fire- and lightning magic are useless against this kind of enemy! Luckily, he's been practising his earth magic, and he loses no time opening up a cleft in the ground, but he's far from fully proficient. The lava monster does get halfway stuck, but it's working on freeing itself while Hijikata struggles to deepen and widen the hole in the earth.]
2) Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish
Part I
[When his guard duty is over, Hijikata happily rejoins the party. He's really hungry now, so he grabs a big cold drink and loads up on grilled food (which he naturally drowns in mayonnaise)! This meal by the seas makes for a good opportunity to catch up with people, whether he hasn't seen them in a long time or just hasn't had a chance to properly exchange thoughts on all that has happened over the last months.]
Have you already gone into any of the new areas? If not, do you have any plans?
Part II
[When it's time to watch the recreation of the mission to the Frozen Falls in the night sky, Hijikata feels pure contentedness. Everybody's hard work paid off! Sure, the Darkness is still out there, but they have twice as much land to reconquer than they had before! It's a good opportunity for anyone seeking companionship to sit next to him and enjoy the spectacle... or maybe you want to hang out later on the airship ride back (Hijikata will be smoking and looking out at the wide landscape on deck)!]
1 - II
Allow me assist, friend!
[The paint brush swept through the air quickly, a picture of a hammer conjured forth and suddenly, both palette and brush turned into a rather comically large, orange mallet. The 3'2" with black and white buns in her hair swung in down, slamming it into the ground and lifting her little body clear off the ground. But that's not all, because the magical effect, and the bonking sound, struck the lava monster as though he were truly struck by the mallet! She did this several times, each time harder than the last.]

Miyuni | OC | Spring
[ A human-sized fishing rod, huh? Cute. At 63 ft tall at the shoulders and 260 ft from snoot to tail-tip, Miyuni is significantly bigger than any commercial aeroplane, let alone a human. She could simply shapeshift …
… But where's the fun in that? She takes to the skies instead, shockingly nimble despite her size, treats the party-goers to a brief but delightful — not to mention gorgeous, her floofy, iridescent plumage shimmering in the sunlight — display of aerial acrobatics. Once she's gained enough distance, she spins with a flourish and dives down deep. A gentle ripple of her own magic keeps the splash to a minimum.
When she emerges again a few minutes later, there's some truly enormous fish dangling from her claws. She's as dry as if she'd never touched the water at all by the time she lands back on the beach. ]
Anyone fancy a snack? [ … Despite her size, her voice is far from booming — it's the exact right volume for a casual conversation with a human. And also, British! Exceptionally melodic, with an innate musicality and a fun hint of a Yorkshire twang. ]
2 ✨ Bonfire
[ Or perhaps you meet her as the sun begins to set! Now she is in human form — over six feet tall, with ridiculously long, impossible voluminous iridescent blue hair streaked and flecked with pinks, purples, and yellows. … The fluffy "ears" on top of her head may or may not actually be ears…? It's hard to tell; they move and emote much like cat ears but don't seem to have openings.
Her bonfire is extra pretty, with sparks and embers in a multitude of colors. She's got plenty of sticks prepped for roasting marshmallows, and all the fixings to make s'mores. Even prettier than the fire is her singing. Yes, ATC's Around The World is a cheesy 2000s pop song, but
1) it's a banger, ok
2) she's an out-of-this-world phenomenal singer.
Somehow — somehow — she single-handedly weaves together every. single. part. of the song, including the instrumentals, harmonising with herself like a one-dragon pop-flavoured orchestra and choir. It's a remix that stays true to the energy of the original, fun and lighthearted, sung with a joyful passion that seems to … tingle, almost, or sparkle in the air, though there's no visual component. ]
3 ✨ Wildcard
[ You could meet her elsewhere! Singing in one of the parks, perhaps, or gasping in unabashed delight at the window display of some bakery or another. Maybe you're about to be mugged — or just got mugged — only to suddenly find your assailant gently yet firmly scruffed. Maybe you're the mugger!
Those who live in Birdtile House might also meet her on the shores of their lake, after a certain pigeon posts in the groupchat that she's bringing a friend over to hang out there. ]
2
Especially when sung in such a voice. It's less a song than a symphony. Fascinating. And she's gorgeous, which is a secondary consideration really.
When she's through, he applauds softly, and steps out into the light.
"Impressive."

Russell Seager | END ROLL | Spring | In-game
[Russell is, of course, out on the lake. A gaggle of otters sits around him, doing things from lounging to eating fish to just generally doting on the stoic teenager who so kindly fed them. It’s kind of a cute scene. He doesn’t seem to pay them too much mind, though, instead focusing on the task at hand: fishing.
There’s an open spot next to him, if you’d like to give him and his new entourage some company?]
Flop Like A Fish - B
…They’re just normal fish.
[Russell says, almost a little disappointed, after taking a bite. What exactly had he been expecting? He stands by a grill with a plate of skewered fish, examining the spoils of his hard work as they sizzle away, being cooked to perfection by hands more skilled than his own.
If he notices you looking his way, he’ll quietly offer:]
… … You want some?
Wildcard
[I'm contractually obligated to let Russell fish when given the opportunity. Want to do a different prompt, tho? I’m open to everything! Feel free to hit me with a starter or shoot me a message via PM or on plurk at
Prose or brackets are both A-okay - I’ll match you!]
B
[Rinku caught absolutely nothing, except the occasional boot, but she seems pretty impressed with Russell's haul. Mecchan is clapping from her shoulder, and Hina was on her head but seems to have wandered off to bite someone else's not-yet-prepared fish and happily drink its blood while Rinku isn't looking.]

Crow Hogan ( Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds ) OTA
Part 1
The idea of a beach party is a complete novelty to Crow. After all, the beaches on the satellite hadn't exactly been nice places -- they were on the satellite after all. But, New Domino City's beaches hadn't been nice like this either.
Crow has no idea what sunscreen is so as he sports swim trunks and no shirt he will definitely have regrets later. Not that you'll be likely to ever hear him complaining about it.
The water jousting does look tempting but Crow ends up on a big bird like inflatable.
He should have thought twice because if he falls off he doesn't know how to swim.
"This is nice!" he declares and stretches soon yelping when he almost tips too far but he's quick to right himself on it again. "Damn that was close."
Part 1
Ugh! This is so hard!
[ Crow complains, probably a bit too loudly as he tries fishing. It's been a while and he hasn't caught a single thing!
He just wanted to feed the cute otters actually. ]

Natsuo Todoroki ( My Hero Academia ) winter probably, new character, est player
This whole thing has to be bullshit. There's no other explanation but that he's gone completely crazy. The white clothes, the message? Hilarious. Just great. Now if he could just wake up and go back to his life already. He thought he'd finally got things set in line how he wanted.
And yet, it doesn't seem like that's on the table. So is it a coma where he's created a complex world or the effect of some quirk gone out of fucking control?
"I just want to get the fuck out of here." One could be forgiven for thinking he means the immediate space and well it's not totally wrong either.
[ I'll match tenses and styles! Feel free to hit me with your best shot or hit me up via PM or on plurk at
[Wildcard, sort of? Hello!]
Shoto's willingness isn't rare, but he's fully committed to what his newest world asks of him. Avalon's "home". Ellipsa's "home". He's pulled from one to his next, and still he's wholly, deeply attached to the life he's created beyond this. Still more jarring to return, to war, yo-yoed between two worlds, three entirely separate timelines arranged in his mind to connect. When he does spot Natsuo in the crowd, it's in his quiet disbelief that fate would grant him any hopes to keep. And immediately, he thinks of a past he wasn't allowed; cold soba, without the fear, without his looking at him through his glass of always-separate, distanced youth. That they might be permitted-

Eliza Perry | Chronicles of Darkness/Werewolf the Forsaken (OC) | Autumn
Eliza hated it here.
She always took a long time to get used to change and that was a big problem right now. First she had turned into a werewolf which apparently all her family except for her knew was something that might happen.
She still has the scars on her cheek where they had to stop her from hurting anyone.
And then when she took the chance to use her new form to save her friends she blacked out and woke up covered in blood. And then she was here, with an Esme who wasn't hurt but also wasn't the Esme she knew and a Mr Davies who she did know but who Esme seems to know better. Worryingly better. And of course they had both decided to travel miles out of this new city to some lake party with too many people too many smells and too much noise. Even the otters that she would usually think were cute annoyed her.
So instead of ruining anyone else's good time she tried to find the quietest part of the beach and sat herself down in the sand. She took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes as she tried to calm down.
It didn't work however and Eliza was left crying alone on the beach.
Back in the city wildcard
"Ugh does this thing have a GPS?" Eliza muttered to herself as she stood on a street corner trying to find out where the hell she had gotten herself, heh. hell. Ironic thought considering who she was looking for.
She wasn't having much luck looking for a GPS app or something like it on the phone so instead she turned to the next person to walk past.
"Hi! Sorry! I'm looking for the Haven hotel? Do you know where it is or, well, at least where I can find a map? Please?"

Levi Ackerman // Attack On Titan // Winter // Current character
a)
After the somewhat disastrous participation in last year's beach party, it's almost a miracle that Levi does, in fact, show up (probably once again convinced into it by one of his more extroverted companions). He's a little less overdressed this time, having exchanged his white uniform shirt to a green short-sleeved button-up patterned with palm leaves as if he's a retired dad on vacation in Bahamas, though he's still in rolled-up pants and boots otherwise. He is also wearing the big cool shades he's mysteriously acquired last year, and he's got a similar coconut umbrella drink in hand.
He also still seems suspicious of the water, grumbling as he watches one of the jousters tumble off the balance beam and into the ocean below, loud enough to catch if you're nearby; "They do know it's full of piss and fish shit, right?"
b)
If later on you happen to see him floating on a giant pink flamingo, no you didn't. (Once again: outside influence likely.) He seems to have ditched the boots for that, at least, and he's got small floaties on both arms just in case, having apparently not learned to swim still. He hadn't changed into proper swimwear still, but it might become clear that it's not necessary for him a little later once he gets back to shore -- and you witness him casually wringing all moisture out of his clothes with the use of his Seasonal powers.
He really seems to be coming into them, huh?
Feel free to float into him in the fenced area or meet him on shore. It's probably not advisable to start a water battle with him, but it's not like you would know of his seasonal alignment by just looking at him...
--2. Odd, Odder and Otterly Cute: Part 2
Oh, he is absolutely going to try out the dunking tanks and the shooting gallery -- both of which are probably very not fair to the booth owners, but he's here to get prizes, not to embody justice.
Find him menacingly weighing a dunking ball in his hand, or hoisting up the air rifle, expression blank with determination which contrasts oddly with his ridiculous hawaiian shirt.
If he knows you and has a mostly positive impression of you, he might stare at you for a moment before nodding at the prize gallery. "Want anything from there?" Otherwise, you may be met with a shorter "What?" and a slightly raised eyebrow.
--3. Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish: Part 1
He has rather enjoyed fishing the last time he tried it -- the calm and peace of it, mostly, but getting fresh food out of it is certainly a bonus -- so when the chance presents itself, he accepts a fishing rod from the otters and follows them into the quieter area where fish haven't yet been scared off from the party.
He sets up with a small folding chair, a plastic bucket and a straw hat he "borrowed" from one of the stands, and casts the line. If you happen to be nearby, he may accept some conversation, as long as it's not loud enough to scare off game.
--4. Now Drop on the Deck and Flop Like a Fish: Part 2
His reaction to the fireworks last year had been much more visceral; after all, where he's from, explosions killed, and one of them was responsible for the injuries on his face and hand that he's still sporting, even if he's gotten back the functionality of said body parts thanks to Ellipsa magic.
But now, in the quiet, he can admire the lights without being startled or waiting for something terrible to inevitably happen. In fact, it's quite delightful, and he finds himself a spot to sit, a bit away but not too far from the bonfire, to admire the show. The sparks flying up into the dark sky from the fire only adds to the beauty.
As long as the fires burn, he'll probably be spending the night there. It's not like he hasn't camped out in the wilderness before.

Laterose "Rose" Noonvale | Final Fantasy XIV | Spring
Pardon, what do you mean I must be assigned to a room with another adult?
[That was an odd requirement. She had simply wanted to know where her room was, but upon seeing the lalafell at the counter, the receptionist muttered about their being some kind of mistake and that they just couldn't in good conscience let Laterose live on her own like that.]
Er, sir? Sir? I truly do not need an adult supervision, I am a grown woman! [She sighed loudly.] Ugh, by the Twelve... are you listening?
[It really didn't help but she couldn't actually see over the counter, even on her tiptoes. Only her twin buns made it above the counter. She huffed and rolled up the sleeves of her flimsy white gown and made to haul herself up. So, there sure was a child-like person who sounded like an adult woman hanging off the counter by her elbows trying to stop the receptionist from rooming her with a complete stranger.]
Ellipsanet un: noonvale
[A Lalafell appears on the screen, although a bit too close. She quickly adjusted her phone, angling it different ways until she felt she got a good enough shot, a decent looking one of she did say so herself. She waved at the camera.]
Well met, friends!
[Despite the child-like appearance, the voice that is heard is not child-like at all. Mature and low, like someone who was definitely an adult.]
I am Laterose Noonvale, although you may call me Rose. 'Twould seem I need to make a clarification for those who reside here, native or not. [She took a breath and sighed it out, looking rueful, even.] We Lalafell may look like children to your eyes, even well into our adulthood, but please trust us when we insist we be treated as adults.
I promise you, as much as I hate to say it, I am older than I appear. The last thing I need is adult supervision. If the term Dwarf is familiar to any of you, then you may also think of that when seeing Lalafell like myself. We are smallfolk, but we age just like the rest of you.
[Was this really so important than her being transported to another world? Not really, but it was clear she was talking that particular bit in stride at the moment. Also, it was really getting tiring having to argue with people here that she really was an adult! Good grief.]
Now, that being said, anyone else here from a Star called Etheirys or Hydaelyn?
Fishing
[When the Otter tugged gently on the skirt of her bathing suit, the Lalafell turned around only to have said Otter offer her a fishing rod. It was actually a human sized one, so she tilted her head a little. The creature seemed to understand and quickly swapped it out for the Otter sized one and she took it with a smile.
She didn't need much coaxing, she rather enjoyed fishing! Probably not as much as creating dyes and painting, but it was a relaxing pastime all the same. It helped that she had spent much of her life at one of two port cities. Kugane and Limsa Lominsa. So, Laterose thought she had a knack for it. It didn't take long before both Lalafell and Otter were seated on a warm rock in the sunlight, lazily fishing.
A few bones already littered one side of it as she gave the little one her spoils, although she saved a couple for herself to grill later.]
You wouldn't happen to have an extra hat, would you, friend? No? Hm, then perhaps we should move to a shadier spot, I fear the fishies are getting used to my hook, anyways.
