She's been pretty consistently abused by just about everyone in her life, so she's slow to trust and quick to anger, but deep down desperately wants belonging and acceptance. She just tends to go looking in all the wrong places for it.

I should very much throw both my boys at her; Yuri and Suzaku would both be good friends + sparring buddies, Yuri usually LARPs a pretty impressive Decent Adult Figure despite being all of 22, Suzaku's a fellow child soldier.
