You arrive in an unknown space, dressed in white clothes (player choice what kind of clothes, as long as they cover everything). Whatever was happening to you before no longer happens. It's like everything was put on a pause and you were transferred away from the situation without you realizing it happened.
The space that you find yourself in is one of these four options:
An empty landscape filled with snow and ice, almost like a blank canvas.
A field with cherry blossom trees and spring flowers.
A sunny beach near an ocean that seems never ending.
A quiet forest with falling autumn leaves.
All of the spaces seem to continue endlessly. No matter where or how far you walk it almost seems like you're not moving at all. There are no animals here - just those who happened to wake up there at the same time, in the same place. Everyone is wearing the same kind of plain, white clothes.
Despite the possible rollercoaster of emotions you might be feeling, the place somehow feels familiar. Like somehow you belong there.
And it looks like you're not alone.
After half an hour has passed the surroundings change as everyone is teleported into a room with all the other new arrivals, no matter what space they woke up in. It's a large place with plenty of seats to sit in and beverages to enjoy. Medical attention is offered to those who need it and the doctors here are very prepared for any challenging situations.
Here, in this room, everyone gets an answer to where they are and why. A hologram of a man appears at the center of the room, waiting to be heard. He brings a message on behalf of the leaders of Ellipsa.
The Message [ Click to Expand ]
Hello, my name is Olwen. I'm one of the leaders of Ellipsa as it currently is. I'm also one of the four who summoned you here.
Our world is in trouble and we need your help. I apologize for tearing you away from your world and forcing you to come here but I hope you understand. The magic we used doesn't let us ask in advance, nor does it let us choose who we bring here.
This world is composed of four Seasonal Segments. All of them represent one of the seasons. They were the places we used to get our resources from, but now they're dangerous places no one should go into unless they have the power to fight back. All of them have their own sets of powerful monsters and natural catastrophes.
We used to have plenty of people here who could control the powers of the four Seasons. We called them Seasonal Power Holders. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy you can read about later, we lost almost all of them. Now only four of us remain and the world is in chaos. We have done our best to protect the world, but we need more power holders to do that.
That's where you come in.
All of you have been assigned to one of the seasons. Whatever space you were in just now is what season you represent. You will learn different skills based on the season and those skills are going to help you save this world.
These powers don't interfere with your own natural powers. They use a new energy that has formed inside of you. It's harmless to your health, but it's vital to your seasonal powers. Your own powers should still work, even if the dark energy outside the city might interfere with them.
Unfortunately bringing you here wasn't as simple as it sounds. We couldn't do anything about how to keep you anchored to this world other than making a simple spell that helps with it. That is, you need to touch someone else who is not from this world ideally at least once a day. It will help you stay in control of your powers and boost your magical energy. If you don't, the consequences aren't very good. But as long as you hold someone's hand or give someone a handshake, you should be fine.
That's all I have to say about the situation. The staff of the Research Center will give you more information about housing and other necessary things. I will, however, promise that you will be sent home once the situation becomes better. That's the least we can do.
The hologram can be viewed in private in a separate room later, should someone wish to look at it again. For now, the staff of the Research Center hands everyone their new smartphones with their small flower lucky charms (the flower is anything the player decides). They're also told that the building next door is where everyone can find a room assigned to them with some of their belongings there and possibly even any animal companions. Those concerned about their mount-sizes companions are welcomed to the stables downstairs to see if their friends are there. The mounts are allowed to stay there until you find a place more suitable for them.
Once you get your smartphone and necessary information, you're urged to go out and find your apartment. After that whatever you want to do is up to you.
Part 3
The building next door is where everyone can find their new apartments. As you enter, you're told by a friendly native that for the first two months you can live anywhere rent-free and five meals a day are paid for you. After that they get a monthly payment that helps with some of their living expenses, but otherwise they have to have a job to support themselves.
All of the apartments are comfortable, two bedroom apartments with all necessary utilities. They are also completely soundproof. Sometimes the magic system, however, does glitch and you might find yourself rooming with a stranger. This is not the intention and the staff will immediately prepare you your own room if you ask them. But maybe having a roommate isn't all that bad?

The city outside the Research Center and the apartment building is a very futuristic and bright place. There's a lot of fancy technology and the weather seems almost too perfect all of the time. Even the weather here is artificial and doesn't feel natural at all. This is the center of the whole Nightwake City and it's called the district that never sleeps for a good reason. It feels like any time of the day you choose to go out there's something going on.
Everyone was given some money on their money app BankCrow to spend. Why not go for the Gacha Restaurant on the main street if you're hungry? You can either choose what style/type of food you want (different cuisines, pizza, junk food, etc) OR pick any ingredients and list your allergens before rolling the gacha machine and what comes out is a meal that fits your choices. Most commonly they're mediocre quality (2-3 stars), slightly rarer are the very bad and very good dishes (1 stars and 4 stars) and the rarest of them all is the golden 5 star dish that is the most delicious and sophisticated meal you'll ever taste. But hey, at least the drinks are all the same no matter what meal you end up getting.
If the futuristic city style isn't for you, there are other district with various different atmospheres waiting for you just outside the city center.
In the District Spotlight [ Click to Expand ]
Blossomcrown is a modern city, but not as futuristic as the central district. Cherry blossom trees have been planted on the side of the streets to give some color for the otherwise gray scenery. It's a busy place with a central park full of spring flowers in the middle, that gives some much needed peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of the city. There's even the famous Botanical Garden open to all visitors. It's a home to many exotic plants that can't be grown anywhere else (that's safe, at least). There are also plenty of butterflies and bees living in the gardens. Attached to the building it also a flower shop where anyone can purchase a plant for themselves - they're even divided by suitability for each district. But if plants aren't your thing, why not check out the concert venue, which is an arena made for holding concerts. It can be transformed into both an outdoor and indoor venue by opening or closing the roof. Anyone can book the venue to hold a concert as long as they have the funds to do it. They will even advertise your concert for you everywhere!
Those who really just want to see something that's not a city, why not try Frostreign? Sure, it's very cold but there aren't very many buildings. It's more like a small village in the middle of Eternal Winter. The easiest ways to move around here are sledding, skiing and sleigh rides, where either excited huskies or chill reindeers will take people on a ride around the district. There are some snowmobiles too for those, who want to try them. One of the most popular locations is the giant, nevermelting ice castle in the center of the town, where kids love to play hide and seek. It's also a popular locations for dates, as the natural magical crystal lights inside the castle make the place look romantic. Another popular spot is the ice hole, where some brave souls go either swimming and some others at least try staying in the icecold water for a little moment before running to the Sauna Spa! It's an area full of different kind of saunas but it also doubles up as an inn, and due to knowing Otherworlders were going to come today, it's even available for booking!
Those who want to test out their powers right away, Dayrise is the place to go! The Grand Colosseum is designated for power holder practice for at least the following week. After that the natives would like to watch sports again rather than continuous fighting, but even then you're welcome to use the colosseum when there's a chance. After testing your powers, the luxurious baths of Dayrise are a good treat. They're all public baths and none of the natives are ashamed of being naked for hours with strangers. They will also encourage anyone coming with a towel to throw it away.

Around the city of Nightwake, Valentine's Day is being celebrated. There are plenty of decorations, all in pastel colors (mainly pink). The Spring Segment districts have also contributed by giving all other districts flowers for decorations for some pleasing aromas. Most of the restaurants also have discount for those who dine together instead of alone.
There are plenty of treats that lift up your mood. Eating too much of the treats results in becoming very clingy to the next person they see. The effect usually wears off in half an hour, but it could take longer depending on how many treats you've eaten.
Another popular Valentine's are the game stalls that are intended to be taken on as couples. Anything you win will only be given to your partner. If you play alone, all you get is a round of applause even if you'd do a new high score. These game stalls include a lot of classic from carnivals and festival, racing with horses or vehicles and even video games.
Each district has a small stall that acts as a starting point for the main Valentine's Day challenge. The goal is to travel from one check point to another within the district while holding hands with someone. There is a small task to be done at each checkpoint (like eating a full course meal or popping balloons while still holding hands). The point is to never let go of your partners' hand. Once the pair gets to the end of the course they get a reward.
The reward for getting past the course is a free item from Riki's Rewards (any prize) and a pair of friendship bracelets that sends messages to its pair bracelet (like "I miss you", "Let's meet up").
Exploring the city isn't something that interests you? Well, the four bridges that lead to the Seasonal Segments are always open and you're definitely allowed to go outside. However, due to the summoning magic, the dark energy outside the city has temporary gone haywire and all of the Segments are suffering from their natural disasters at the same time.
Winter Segment is suffering from a raging blizzard and the usual beautiful landscapes are just a white blur for the time being.
Spring Segment is in the middle of a hurricane, with all of the lightest beings being picked up and tossed all over the place with the wind.
Summer Segment is literally on fire. Only the rain forests and jungles, as well as the Great Ocean Lake are safe from it.
Autumn Segment is suffering from a thunderstorm. Chances of getting struck by lightning are quite high should someone step in.
If you're prepared for the weather, no one is going to stop you from going out to explore. It might be a good idea to bring a friend with you. Luckily, the natural catastrophes calm down after two days and the Segments are more normal after that. So it might actually be worth a while to wait before going out.
After the storm the sun shines and sheep appear [ Click to Expand ]
When you venture out to the Spring Segment after the storm, there's a herd of Fabric Sheep wandering near the Flower Yard. These sheep are tame and while they usually run and hide, sometimes they look for people to help them get their wool sheared. Luckily natives on the Dayrise bridge are handing out shearing scissors for those who would like to help.
The sheep get scared very easily, but if you don't make too many sudden movements, you will be able to do your job easily. The sheep might even boop you gently as a thanks before heading off again. If you're mean to sheep, however, you might get an angry Gravity Goat chasing you.
Anyone who visits the Flower Yard of any of the Segments will hear a story from a native there. A story of the magic that has been put in place that lets all the otherworlders "respawn" to their respective Flower Yard if they die in Ellipsa. The flower will be the same as it is in everyone's charms. The natives say that more details can be asked from the main four seasonal power holders, but that they've heard it's painless for otherworlders to emerge from the flower.
After the Segments have settled down, a message appears on everyone's smartphones. Everyone is invited to join some observational cruises at the Airship Station in Nightwake District. There are four different ships leaving at the same time, but if you come back again later you will be able to go to them all eventually. The trip targets are the Seasonal Segments. Of course, there are long instructions as to how one should dress to handle the different weather they would be experiencing while in the air. You have time to shop as the invitation is open for a good while.
The Airship Station is a very modern, almost futuristic, place with a lot of docks with various airships lined up. Most of the ships there are used for in-city transportation and there are various holographic displays that tell how many ships are available and where. Various restaurants are also found here and view from the ones on top of the building is amazing. There's time to look around, but your final destination is the biggest docks at the end of the station.
The point of these cruises is to give otherworlders a chance to see what the Segments are like without interacting with the monsters down below. The ships will fly to the airship station of each Segment and then come back a different route to cover as much of the segment as possible. In total the trip is said to take four days.
Because of the length of the trip, everyone has been provided with a simple two to four person cabin (with their own bathroom/shower) and three meals are served per day throughout the trip. Snacks can also be found from the cafeteria and they're free of charge.
Enjoy the view, bond with your fellow passengers and relax. Staying on the deck is safe, especially if you don't start leaning over the rails to look down.
The old lady and her cats [ Click to Expand ]
Each airship station in the segments is unique in their own right. They're not very well-kept like the one in the city and various weather changes have definitely modified them to look old and worn down.
Strangely enough, each of the airship stations has someone living there; an old lady with a herd of different cats depending on the season: winter cats are spirits that can be seen by anyone due to them taking control of stuffed animals, spring cats are part flowers, summer cats look like small lions or tigers and autumn cats are essentially the same as will-o'-the-wisps but in cat shape.
The old ladies explains that they are quite comfortable living there and don't have any plans to "evacuate". They will kindly decline anyone who tries to help them. The airship staff explains there are some special arrangements in place to help them live in the stations as those are safe places to stay in.
Each of the ladies will tell you a story. Winter lady will talk about the Watchtower and who used to live there, spring lady will tell all about the abandoned farm and its owners, summer lady talks about the abandoned castle and its royalty and autumn lady tells about the abandoned mansion and who used to be the lord.
If you talk to the same lady again later the story is different. She tells a different version of the story every time she is talked to. No one is really sure which of the stories is true because of how many versions are circulating around.
The ships only stay docked at the station for as long as the staff of the airship delivers some food and other necessities to the old ladies and then it's back towards the city again. Of course, nothing stops anyone from leaving the ship and experiencing the segments themselves.

[ S- SORRY... didn't mean to squeak like that, her arms letting go of him for a moment before they go limp. Goodness! That was a very tight hug... wheeze.
If Cloud gives her a bit of space, she takes a deep breath and hugs him again. Tighter now. Not enough to make him squeak in response, but just enough to properly accompany the soft laugh that bubbles out of her. ]
It's been a while, hehe.
[ Ayaka seems to think that time had passed for Cloud too. But... There's time later to try and make sense of it all. ]
I would be very sad if you didn't miss me.
[ Now that she remembers everything, and knowing that this is real? She can say it. Even for the few moments today wherein her memories of Nippon came rushing to her... she can say it. It doesn't feel wrong to say, even if just a moment ago, she wasn't sure.
Being held like this... she knows now- She really did miss him. And she has so many stories to tell him! Oh, she hopes he would want to listen to them all... ]
no subject
[ She squeaks, and that's his first clue to immediately let go. Face flushing, he's hit with a sense of deja vu... Ah- That's right. Too hard. ]
Sorry.
[ He does indeed give her space, long enough for her to come hug him right back. This time, Cloud's arms wrap around her with little pressure at all. Just enough so that she would know that he's there. He's real. All of this is real. ]
Yeah? [ For her, perhaps... There would be time to make heads and tails of everything. Later. When they had a moment to take everything in and understand their surroundings. For all the modern technology this world had, it felt like this was at least a chance to introduce Ayaka to new things he was familiar with. Instead of just talking about them all the time. ] Like the new look.
[ It's so different from what Ayaka traditionally wore... He knew there had to be a story behind it. Giving one more little squeeze, he lets go...far enough to at least have his arms lazily draping around her waist so he can look down to her.
If she was looking for an answer to how much he missed her...she'd get it. For Cloud, it wasn't so long ago. For Ayaka, how long must it have felt like before she got a chance to feel her beau's lips? One story after another with Ayaka... He'll listen to every single one after he's put that proverbial cherry on top this reunion, leaning in to kiss her. ]
no subject
Nothing could be as painful as losing her parents, but... the pain that she felt was close to it. To think that in less than a year, she was able to be herself and achieve a level of happiness that she'd never felt before. Only for her to have it all taken away from her in an instant. What was even worse, knowing all that now, was that the only way to take that pain away was to forget about all those happy things to begin with. Erase them from your memory, until they no longer exist in your reality.
Crazy how you can get it all back in a span of seconds, though... All of it. The happy things, the sad ones... you can't be considered alive if it's just one of those two, right?
That's right. She's alive like this. Especially when she's in Cloud's arms. She kisses him back to prove it, nothing but warmth and happiness flowing through her at this very moment. ]
It's very different, isn't it?
[ Once they've pulled away from one another, Ayaka does a little spin for him to show her dress! Her hair, too! She's put her hair up in a bun before, when she wore a kimono, but she's never worn her hair this way, ever. There is a story behind it, of course! Especially with how different it is from the usual Inazuman fashion. ]
I am dressed up as Miss Orith, a character from a light novel in Fontaine. This dress is fashioned after hers, but the tailor made sure to make it just for me.
[ She takes one side of her skirt and lifts it slightly, high enough to show the tsubaki that adorn the fabric. Not that there's anything to see. She has a petticoat underneath! And tights, too. ]
Isn't it lovely?
no subject
May he never know what it felt like to be apart from her for as long as she was from him. In the meantime, he focuses on the here and now, pulling away from her so he can actually finally get the upper half of his Nipponese outfit on. But before Cloud brings the fabric over his head and tugs it down, he watches as she does a little spin.
And he's enamored all over again. Watching with a calm sense of wonder and bright eyes. He may not be able to retain her eye color or hair color due to the effects of Kizuna anymore, but it just means that Cloud's eyes for what they truly were, are even more genuine as his cheeks color. It still wasn't a common word within his vocabulary...but,
'Cute' doesn't even begin to describe his girlfriend. It's enough to make his heart begin to hammer away in his chest a little harder, even if the blond does well in quelling his reaction on the surface. ]
So that's what Fontaine fashion's all about...
[ When she lifts one side of her skirt slightly, he can't help but tilt sideways at the hip, as if to get a better look when he spots the tsubaki adorning the fabric. The petticoat and tights are a nice touch if this is a character's outfit! Sighing through his nose with a gentler smile, ]
Beautiful.
[ 'Lovely' works too... Quickly, he pulls the sleeveless shirt over his head, his head popping through as he adjusts the top to be even on his upper body. As for the rest? The armor plating, Tsubaki...he doesn't really concern himself with wearing any of those right now. If they leave this place together, he will. But now that she's brought up the fact that she's dressed as a character from home... Did this mean- ]
Ayaka? [ A beat. ] Soon as I jumped through that door...I woke up here.
[ As for her... ]
Did...you go back? To Inazuma?
no subject
[ That's... odd. Ayaka's not even sure how to feel just yet, hearing all this. It's not a problem, far from it! It's just two different scenarios.
She puts herself back in Nippon, in her mind's eye. Stepping through that door, she was back in Inazuma, writing invitations for the Irodori festival, as if nothing was amiss. ]
I... I was in Inazuma, but... nothing changed. I knew nothing of Nippon, of traveling worlds, and whatnot. Not until I was brought here.
[ Ayaka does not frown, but talking about it now with someone? Her expression shows that she's a little bothered. ]
That was when I remembered Nippon, and the people I have met, and bonds I have formed. [ She takes a step back as her hands move over her heart. Her eyes close, remembering the pain she felt when she found herself here, dressed in white, with nothing but herself and her memories. ] I felt a kind of happiness I'd never felt before... and then pain, upon realising that I may never have it again.
But... you're here.
[ So it's okay to be happy, right? She can have that kind of happiness again? ]
no subject
...
But then, ]
(What about...where I wanna be? At the end of everything...)
[ He doesn't frown either. Keeping a neutral expression when Ayaka rests a hand over her heart. Giving her as much time as she needs in turn to sort out her own emotions over what they thought they'd lose...and what they ultimately regained. His brow does furrow some, the taller blond calmly approaching and closing what little distance is left between them...
"But... you're here." ]
[ It's in this moment, when she questions whether it's okay to be happy or not, that his strong hand returns to her shoulder. Beckoning her to, in a role reversal, to keep her eyes on him when he finally breaks his silence and answers her. ]
And that's the way it's going to stay.
[ They're not on a time limit. Not that he's aware of. And what he's learned in his departure? Is that he wasn't ready to let her go like that. Not again. Not after the gravity of what it meant for the two of them hit him hard. ]
I'm not going anywhere this time. [ He gently squeezes her shoulder. ] Not until I know I've got a way back to you.
[ What did 'Cloud' say in their audition? That he loved her too damn much to let her go? ]
no subject
But if Cloud found himself here, without anything happening in between, unlike what she's experienced, would that mean he is still stuck in time? Or should they just take this as an opportunity? ]
Perhaps we will be able to find a way, here in this world.
[ If not in Nippon, then maybe here. Ayaka is optimistic, despite how worried she looks. ]
I will do everything that I can to make this happen.
no subject
That's my new plan.
[ "I will do everything that I can do to make this happen." ]
Mm. Right.
[ That being said, his own spirits lifted as they were? ]
Let's worry about it later. We got time. [ Lots of it. Something he exemplifies by closing that distance between them in a bid to slip one of his hands into hers. ] You end up finding where you got roomed up yet?
[ Did she find her things? Because he literally just got into this one. There's no love loss if he goes with her. ]
no subject
[ She really did get distracted when she heard his name. But she was given a key, which she pulls out of her pocket. ]
I just have to go to this unit. I was told I would find my things there.
[ But if she were being honest, right now? She would much rather stay with him and not be alone. ]
Have- Have you seen Ayato, by any chance?
no subject
I'll go check with you. Whenever you want.
[ Then she asks of her brother, Ayato... He'd come across the likes of Captain Kaeya and Rufus, speaking of people who he recalled from Nippon. But otherwise... ]
No. [ He sighs, shaking his head. ] Not yet, anyway.
no subject
Alright. Thank you, Cloud. I'll have to be on the lookout if Ayato ever arrives.
[ She hopes Ayato will be okay. ]
no subject
I'll keep a lookout too. The second I find him, [ If he happens upon him first, ] you'll be the first to know.
[ A beat. Two before, ]
I'm sure he's fine.
no subject
[ His hand in hers brings her so much comfort. So much so that she closes her eyes and takes in a deep breath, focusing on Cloud's warmth for a moment. ]
Did we arrive at the same time?
[ Tug tug. They can check out her place later. It would be much better for the two of them to gather their bearings first. ]
no subject
Probably. I woke up in a white shirt and pants, surrounded by cherry blossoms... Till I suddenly got warped around here.
What about you?
no subject
[ The cherry blossoms, too! It was a beautiful place, and she doesn't fully understand the meaning yet, but... maybe they'll figure it out later on. She's completely unaware that not everyone woke up the same way here. ]
And now... in a world like this, we would have to start anew.
no subject
[ He shifts a little in his seat, bouncing slightly on the mattress as he watches her closely. Ayaka really did make a good case for it being impossible to have a bad side. Her costume...the way her hair was done up. They've already been through so much, but if she were looking for a new way of keeping his eyes on her? She did it again. ]
This city... [ He doesn't know about the rest of this land, but as far as Nightwake is concerned? ] It's closer to what Midgar'd be like.

[ Maybe Ayaka can check out flower shops if they're employing? Or perhaps a school... It'd be familiar, in a lot of ways.
Though when Cloud mentions that this place is closer to what Midgar would be like? She realises that it will take her some time to get used to things. But if it means she's able to learn more about Cloud's world through practical application, then she welcomes it entirely. ]
It is a very... different city. I was so surprised to see images looking so realistic! Then I touched them, and my hand passed through.
[ Holograms!! O_O!!! ]

[ When Ayaka makes mention of holograms, his smile grows a little, gently sighing with a hum of amusement. This really was going to be something of a culture shock for her. And a technological one! ]
...
Betcha they've got rice cookers here.

Really? Then... then we should save up and buy one!
[ Wait. She heard it as soon as she said it, and she deflates. Right... They can't exactly share an appliance. Not unless they live in the same place, and that's... not something they've ever considered before.
Cloud knows how to use one, at least, so he should get one, if he likes. As for Ayaka? She still needs to go to her own apartment and figure things out from there.
If Ayato really isn't here, then she'll have to live alone. ]
Ah, I mean, one for your apartment.

"Ah, I mean, one for your apartment."
It makes sense now. They haven't even begun to search for wherever her apartment is supposed to be. Or if she'd even be rooming with someone else or not. This world could have very well rearranged things for them and set them up to pair with others. After all, the only real catch to being here was that the world thrived on...touch? Nothing that was much of a concern for Cloud, with or without his girlfriend by his side. The touch of someone's hand, a hand on the shoulder, anything counted, right? So perhaps this world didn't really care who was paired up with who at the end of the day.

No. ]

Not being by her side. Going against everything he wished for when they shared that fateful night beneath raining stars.
He can feel his pocket growing heavier, the omamori reminding him of the luck blessed to him. Of every barrier he let down because of her. Of the heart that she still holds in the palm of her hand no matter how far they were. Even still, ]
Ayaka...
[ He has a wish to fulfil. He has a star to continue chasing. Brighter than any star in this perfectly fake sky. And he can't find it by looking up. He finds it by his side now. And this time... ]

You want me to stay with you?

[ As deep as their relationship may be, and despite all the things they've done for one another and how devoted they are to each other, this was a line that Ayaka never considered to cross. At least, not yet...
When they were in Nippon, due to how frequent Cloud was over, and his interactions with Ayato, it sort of felt like he was part of the family already. That living under the same roof was something she did think about. But... here? It didn't exactly have the same connotation.
Maybe Ayaka's just thinking too much, though... ]
But, weβ
[ Before she could continue, she looks down at her hands on her lap. It's not that she doesn't want to. She would want to be with Cloud no matter what. But is she ready for that? ]
Please forgive me. I had only meant that we should buy one for you. We talked about rice cookers before and... if you had a need for one, then we could buy one together for your home. I was excited, and didn't watch my words. I- I wasn't implying that you shouldβ
[ She's so nervous now. Her hands bunch up what she can of her skirt, fidgeting and all. She wants to be able to say what she wants to say properly, so her words next come with a lot of thought. Thought and uncertainty for what may come next, because if she were to be honest? She feels lost. ]
Um... I've- I've never been alone like this before...
[ Without her family. Ayato. He and Zack were her closest friends in Nippon. So much so that she would do anything for them if they asked. Thoma isn't a Kamisato, but he may as well be another brother. But what about those two? They're also like family at this point. ]

But now, she's alone. She's hesitating, and somehow his own heart feels a little heavier listening to her. Ayaka roundabouts back to the rice cooker. How she meant that they should buy one for him. For his home.
...if he'd even stay here. Cloud's not one to jump to rash conclusions, thankfully. ]
...
[ Even if it feels like she's telling him no. Not yet. His hands had returned to his lap before she bunched what she could of her skirt in nervous thought. And for the time being, it's where they stay. ]
I'll show you how to use one.
[ An underlined meaning. He gets it. Ayato, for all they knew, wasn't in this world. Who would she even see from Teyvat? Would others retaining memories of that Gaia come as well? Their estate was gone. His home in Kyoto he worked so hard to move to was gone. ]
You can borrow mine anytime whenever I get one.

[ Ayaka does not look at him yet, even up to now. She stays looking down, still so nervous from all this. Secrets were not something she kept from Cloud; she didn't have any to begin with. She always felt safe with him. But... she isn't letting him down because of how lost she feels, is she?
She's afraid to know what the answer would be. ]
Is it immature of me to consider my brother at a time like this? Maybe I'm not as grown-up as I thought I was.
[ Because what if he does show up? And she never asked him about her plans to stay with Cloud. She is the lady of his house... Much as her heart belongs to Cloud, her duty to the Kamisato Clan sits above all else. ]
I do not wish to be separated from you, either...
[ She is very confused. π ]
