Arrival

Part 1

You arrive in an unknown space, dressed in white clothes (player choice what kind of clothes, as long as they cover everything). Whatever was happening to you before no longer happens. It's like everything was put on a pause and you were transferred away from the situation without you realizing it happened.

The space that you find yourself in is one of these four options:

An empty landscape filled with snow and ice, almost like a blank canvas.
A field with cherry blossom trees and spring flowers.
A sunny beach near an ocean that seems never ending.
A quiet forest with falling autumn leaves.

All of the spaces seem to continue endlessly. No matter where or how far you walk it almost seems like you're not moving at all. There are no animals here - just those who happened to wake up there at the same time, in the same place. Everyone is wearing the same kind of plain, white clothes.

Despite the possible rollercoaster of emotions you might be feeling, the place somehow feels familiar. Like somehow you belong there.

And it looks like you're not alone.

Part 2

After half an hour has passed the surroundings change as everyone is teleported into a room with all the other new arrivals, no matter what space they woke up in. It's a large place with plenty of seats to sit in and beverages to enjoy. Medical attention is offered to those who need it and the doctors here are very prepared for any challenging situations.

Here, in this room, everyone gets an answer to where they are and why. A hologram of a man appears at the center of the room, waiting to be heard. He brings a message on behalf of the leaders of Ellipsa.

The Message [ Click to Expand ]

Hello, my name is Olwen. I'm one of the leaders of Ellipsa as it currently is. I'm also one of the four who summoned you here.

Our world is in trouble and we need your help. I apologize for tearing you away from your world and forcing you to come here but I hope you understand. The magic we used doesn't let us ask in advance, nor does it let us choose who we bring here.

This world is composed of four Seasonal Segments. All of them represent one of the seasons. They were the places we used to get our resources from, but now they're dangerous places no one should go into unless they have the power to fight back. All of them have their own sets of powerful monsters and natural catastrophes.

We used to have plenty of people here who could control the powers of the four Seasons. We called them Seasonal Power Holders. Unfortunately, due to a tragedy you can read about later, we lost almost all of them. Now only four of us remain and the world is in chaos. We have done our best to protect the world, but we need more power holders to do that.

That's where you come in.

All of you have been assigned to one of the seasons. Whatever space you were in just now is what season you represent. You will learn different skills based on the season and those skills are going to help you save this world.

These powers don't interfere with your own natural powers. They use a new energy that has formed inside of you. It's harmless to your health, but it's vital to your seasonal powers. Your own powers should still work, even if the dark energy outside the city might interfere with them.

Unfortunately bringing you here wasn't as simple as it sounds. We couldn't do anything about how to keep you anchored to this world other than making a simple spell that helps with it. That is, you need to touch someone else who is not from this world ideally at least once a day. It will help you stay in control of your powers and boost your magical energy. If you don't, the consequences aren't very good. But as long as you hold someone's hand or give someone a handshake, you should be fine.

That's all I have to say about the situation. The staff of the Research Center will give you more information about housing and other necessary things. I will, however, promise that you will be sent home once the situation becomes better. That's the least we can do.

The hologram can be viewed in private in a separate room later, should someone wish to look at it again. For now, the staff of the Research Center hands everyone their new smartphones with their small flower lucky charms (the flower is anything the player decides). They're also told that the building next door is where everyone can find a room assigned to them with some of their belongings there and possibly even any animal companions. Those concerned about their mount-sizes companions are welcomed to the stables downstairs to see if their friends are there. The mounts are allowed to stay there until you find a place more suitable for them.

Once you get your smartphone and necessary information, you're urged to go out and find your apartment. After that whatever you want to do is up to you.

Part 3

The building next door is where everyone can find their new apartments. As you enter, you're told by a friendly native that for the first two months you can live anywhere rent-free and five meals a day are paid for you. After that they get a monthly payment that helps with some of their living expenses, but otherwise they have to have a job to support themselves.

All of the apartments are comfortable, two bedroom apartments with all necessary utilities. They are also completely soundproof. Sometimes the magic system, however, does glitch and you might find yourself rooming with a stranger. This is not the intention and the staff will immediately prepare you your own room if you ask them. But maybe having a roommate isn't all that bad?

Little April Showers

Part 1

April is the time for a strange weather effect that affects all of the districts, save for the one in the middle and Frostreign. It's not weird that it rains, but it's what the rain does that has been dubbed as the Rain of Affection.

Anyone who stands in the rain will feel the need to get close to someone. It starts with a need to gently touch someone gently, but can escalate into needing to hug someone. The ultimate craving of the rain is kissing in the rain but that's the most it can make happen. It's a very Safe For Work Rain Effect.

After a successful kiss in the rain, the cravings slowly become less urgent, but the effect can start all over again at any given time.

Of course, there are individuals who don't get too affected by the rain (at all or not as badly) and it only works if it directly hits someone. So staying in a shelter or being in Nightwake Center or Frostreign is definitely a way to avoid this whole phenomenon. Even avoiding the worst of the effect is easy by just going under a shelter or purchasing a nice, maybe even a color changing, umbrella.

It's raining very often until the end of the month at different times in each districts.

Part 2

After the rain, a rainbow usually appears. Rainbows formed by the Rain of Affection are special, wish granting ones. The natives will explain that if you hold someone's hands and make a wish that wish will come true in some capacity.

Someone wishing for wealth may win a gift card for a shop while someone wishing to see a loved one they're missing may get pictures sent to their mobile devices (how? magic). Those wishing for world peace may find their very presence be calming to others. But the biggest prize is a free regain of a non-magical item or an animal companion. If someone asks for a magical item it will come as a non-magical item and the magical part of it would have to be purchased by a magical-regain, so it's cheaper to just not.

Be careful what you wish for, as each character only gets one wish, no matter how many rainbows they end up seeing during the rainy season.

Part 3

Solarpeak has a new way of battling against the hot summer days (you know, when it isn't raining). Many shops along the streets sell ice cream mochis of varying flavors. You have your very normal flavors like different berries, fruit and chocolate, but also some very excotic and weird ones.

There's even a flavor called random mystery that is literally that. A randomized flavor that is a mystery to all. It can even be a flavor that no one has thought of before or even something that definitely should not be in any kind of food. Anyone who buys a pack of two mochis will get a free mystery one if they want it (and sometimes even if they don't).

Other districts also have some treats out for different climates. There are various flavors of hot cocoa in places like Amberfall and Frostreign, and nice light treats like macarons in Blossomcrown. Of course various restaurants have their own menus that fit their own season, so you could definitely have a gourmet journey all over the city of Nightwake if you wished.

When Life Gives You Portals

Part 1

One morning, on all of the bridges leading outside into the segments, round gates appear. They're portals that bring in monsters. They look normal from the outside looking in, like portals to a lovely garden. But the gardens are the problem as they are infested with different monsters, waiting to attack the city. This isn't the first time natives have seen these portals and before they had people to deal with them, but now? They need otherworlders.

All of the monsters inside need to be defeated for the portal to disappear. No one knows exactly how many there are, but with the defeat of the last one, the portal will disappear from around anyone inside of it, leaving the characters on the bridge.

The portal can be entered from both the city and the segment side and it looks flat when looked from sideways. Like it's just a random 2D structure in the middle of the world.

Those who explore the portal further will notice that they will loop around. It's very similar to the place they started in, back when they arrived, as it doesn't seem to have an end, no matter how you explore the place.

For noncombatants, natives have set up stations to help with first aid and making food for the fighters so they can occasionally come back from the portals to take a much needed rest.

Anyone helping with the fight, either in the portals or outside, will receive a hefty 5000 Moon Coin reward for their hard work. A good way to earn some starting funds!

Monster List [ Click to Expand ]All of the Monsters listed here will be in all of the portals and there will be several of each to fight.

The danger level is indicated with Stars. The lowest level threat is 0 while the highest is 10. From 7 and above, the likelihood of a beast going for a kill increases significantly.

NameDescriptionStars
BubblefishBubblefish are lumbering, two-legged creatures, with fins for arms, a long, muscular, finned tail, and a big fish face. They are fast, dangerous predators while in water, but do not count them out while on land, as regardless of whether they are above water or below it, they can blow large bubbles which capture their targets. Once inside the stretchy bubble, victims begin to go numb, their body feeling like it's on pins and needles as the Dragonfish begins to cast various debuffs on them. The bubbles are tough to escape despite their appearance, but the debuffs are lesser when shared, and can be escaped with the propper application of mint or minty treats! Mint has the effect of weakening the bubble to allow it to pop, although you may then find yourself being charged as the Bubblefish goes wild trying to get that minty goodness.5-8
BugboarsThese are really more like rhinocerous beetles, but they are the size of wild boars, and they act similarly, roaming about in family groups together, rooting through the ground to unearth any edible material. They are highly territorial, and charge at anything or anyone who gets close. Their eyesight might be poor, but they make up for it with their antennae and the fact that these massive beetles do have wings, and they possess enough control over wind to lift themselves off of the ground at great speeds, or send powerful gales at those who come too close to their young.6
CrockodileCrocodiles with elemental powers of earth, leading to them being able to travel through dirt and stone as if they were water, these large reptiles often hide beneath the earth with only their eyes and nostrils peeking out, resembling the stone they hide within. They are ambush predators, popping out of the ground, large stony jaws open to crush their prey, but even once dragged out of hiding they are hardly easy to defeat. These crocks are stony in appearance and their hide is just as hard to pierce. In addition, they're a little closer to the size of a small car than your average crocodile.6-9
Flurry FlockWhite birds acting like a swarm that may deceive you into thinking they are harmless doves at first. Upon closer inspection, they more closely resemble a vengeful murder of crows with pure white feathers that they can use to reflect light so brilliantly that one can be blinded, leaving the flock's victim open to attack as they descend upon their prey like a group of voracious piranhas, claws and beaks as cold as ice as they try to tear their foes apart3-6
LavapotamusThese large hippo-creatures seem to be either made of or covered in molten rock that hardens over time when in the air. Usually they prefer to soak in lava and be left alone. Pulled through portals in an environment far too cool for their liking and with people so nearby has them aggressive and dangerous, charging down anyone who gets too near and leaving a red-hot trail of lava in their wake.3-8
MinosaurThis creature seems to be a horrific mash of other creatures, similar to a traditional chimera; it possesses the body and horns of a bull, a head like a Tyrannosaurus, the plates of a stegosaurus all the way down it's powerful back and becoming spikes as they trail down it's tail, which ends in a very angry snake head. There is no end of this creature's body which is not hard, sharp, and completely pissed off. If you manage not to get bitten or gored at it's head, you will still need to contend with the powerful hooved legs attempting to stomp down on you, and take care to dodge as the snake head on it's tail spits fire.8-10

Part 2

Even after the defeat of the Portals, there's still a lot of things to do! All of the Guilds are open. There's a good training space outside of them to test our powers and computers where you can learn all about what kind of powers you can unlock.

All guilds also have the same Questboard open! Why not take a look and see what adventures await?

[That voice... was way too familiar for comfort. But Noctis doesn't get a chance to take a look (yet) at who it is despite the curiosity, because the minosaur thrashes around trying to send him flying off of their body. Noctis curses loudly, loses balance for a moment, but warps to the nearest vantage point he can reach. He managed to cut deep into the neck but it will take more than that to kill the beast.

Once upon vantage point, he tries to squint at the figure fighting it to figure out who it is because of curiosity, but as the tail whips around to get into position to either bite or spit more fire, Noctis concludes, smartly(!), that it's not the time for that. He drops for a second, switching from his sword to a lance, spins it in his hand and warps directly at the head of the snake, sinking the lance through the top of the mouth to bottom, preventing it for the moment, to rain fire.

The minosaur does reel back in anger, tossing Noct off, who lands not so graciously on the ground, skidding to a stop with his back hitting the rail of the bridge.]

Give me back my lance, jerk- [he taunts, running a circle around it; he can easily summon it back but doesn't try to because it is keeping the mouth shut on that end- for now.]

[Wait, what was that sound just now? Regis nearly does a double take once he notices the faint blue crystals floating aimlessly within the air. They shimmer with familiar brilliance, a telltale sign that someone just warped away. His eyes widen with alarm as he stares at those lingering particles completely unaware that the minosaur’s wrath has turned towards him again.]

Could it be? No, impossible–

[He turns to search where his unlikely ally has disappeared. However, he doesn’t get the chance to confirm his thoughts when the minosaur suddenly breaks free from the ice. Frozen in surprise, Regis was just about to cast another spell until his unlikely savior drops down from above and impales the beast. The serpent head lets out an agonized roar as it thrashes about violently causing the rest of its body to convulse. It’s a ghastly sight, one that will be unfortunately etched forever within his memories but Regis doesn’t waste this opportunity.

In a flash of brilliant white light, Regis draws his sword and rushes forward to stab the creature within its gut, carving a ghastly red gash across its exposed flesh. There’s not many areas where a sword can pierce the minosaur but Regis managed to find a way. He flicks the blood off his sword as he backs away slowly, his eyes wide in alarm once he finally sees Noctis for the first time in what feels like…eons.
]

Noctis?!

[He can feel his heart thundering against his chest once he sees those familiar blue eyes. Is this a trick of some sort? Maybe his eyes are playing tricks upon him.]

[He's learned a thing or two from his travels, however short it was- if the mouth is shut, it can't bite you. There's an odd sense of pride that he managed to do this without Gladio, he's getting bragging rights.

But his attention is ripped away when the same familiar voice calls him by his full name- his head twists around so fast he's surprised he didn't break his neck. He probably shouldn't get distracted during battle, and neither of them should (he could hear Gladio chastising him about it), but this is just... impossible!? How is this possible?!]

Dad...?!

[Without his focus, the spear disappears from the serpent's mouth and returns to the ethereal space, and the serpent lets out a screech. Now that it is free, it opens its mouth and attempts to rain fire on him. The heat finally snaps him back to the situation, and he has to rip his gaze away from Regis and refocus, to jump back, stumble a little, and wave his hand to manipulate fire and lower the heat of it, color changing from fiery red to blue and white.]

What the hell is going on!?

[This must be what Ignis referred to as "confusion loses battles more often than large armies".]

[This would’ve been a heartwarming reunion between father and son if it wasn’t for the angry two-headed fiend bearing down on them. Regis was just about to summon another torrent of water when Noctis suddenly took charge. Instead of being swallowed up in red hot flames, the fire suddenly burns cold and changes to an odd blue-white hue. Regis is stunned. He doesn’t recall there being any sort of spell that could alter the temperature of fire and yet, here they are. The old king can’t help but blink his eyes in confusion.]

Shall we talk about this later?

[He suggests before taking up arms again. If the two of them can put this monster down, then Nightwake City will be all the safer for it. However, that’s much easier said than done since the minosaur is charging at them now after its fiery breath was rendered useless. Regis wastes no time crafting yet another translucent barrier, this time creating it around the both of them in hopes of stopping the monster’s charge. While he still possesses most of his abilities, Regis's magic is a tad weaker than before. That explains the fine hairline cracks scattered all over the shield.]

Sounds like a plan-!

[He really needs to get his head back into the fight because this can turn very bad very quickly. Seeing that fire did nothing to him, minosaur decided that changing tactics would be a good thing to do, so instead of breathing fire, it lunges at him to bite him. Noct has just barely enough time to react and repel the attack, blocking it with the spear he resummoned and pushing the head back. And then, he's out as he warps away again.

From up here, he can see that the shield won't hold out for longer- whatever this beast is, it's merciless, and the shield, while incredibly tough, is not infallible, especially here.

He warps right back at the beast's back, doing some slashes and stabs midair, before landing on the ground, and trying to jab his javelin in parts where the beast has no scales.]

Language!

[Of course, a father would be more concerned about his son swearing than about the twelve feet tall beast trying to devour them. All jokes aside, this battle marks the first time this father and son duo has ever fought together. It’s sort of…nice. Exhilarating, actually. Regis has watched Noctis spar against Gladiolus and Cor in the past, but he has never seen him out on the field before. While he always knew that Noctis had it in him, he didn’t expect this level of ferocity from the boy. It somewhat reminds him of his youth back when he was a twenty something year old prince trying to defy the world.

Once Noctis takes point, Regis switches weapons for the first time in this bout. The sword vanishes in a hail of white light followed by the sudden emergence of a large silvery crossbow with a winged motif. It’s the Bow of the Clever, one of the many Royal Arms he collected throughout his youth. He takes a step back as he aims the bow at the minosaur’s head. No, not the snake-head but rather the one that looks like an overgrown tyrannosaurus. Now that Noct is distracting the beast by attacking from the rear, he can focus on attacking its front.

The minosaur attempts to block Noct’s attacks with little avail since it has lost its momentum making this the perfect time to end it. As his son attacks the vulnerable underside of this foul beast, Regis fires three magical shots into the beast. The bolts pierce deep within the monster’s armor causing it to thrash about violently. It takes a moment for the overgrown fiend to fall but when it does, the minosaur crashes onto the ground with a dying howl. It lays there momentarily, still moving even though in the middle of its death throes.

A sigh of relief escapes Regis once he realizes it’s over.
]

Bloody hells–

[Wait, didn’t he just tell Noctis not to curse?! Rules for thee but not for me.]

[Noct just tsks at the 'warning' and actually chuckles to himself as he continues to pierce through and rip the not protected parts of the beast. He's gotten himself in a really good position, using his dodging senses to phase away whenever the tail tries to smack him or the dino head tries to lunge at him.

It doesn't take long after this that the beast lets out a howl, sways, and starts falling onto its side. Noct has to quickly dash and phase away from it before it makes a pretty stain out of him. He's out of breath, with dust on his face and soot on his clothes, but there's a glint in his eyes that says "YAY success!!!" that he doesn't really express with words.

He lets the spear disappear back into armiger, and he dusts off his hands, making his way slowly towards Regis.]

Nuh-huh, language.

[He's allowed to be cheeky with his father after all this time, right? Right. Still, after coming close enough, he seems to satisfy himself just staring at Regis, as if trying to figure out if he really is real, if this isn't an illusion, if this place is playing tricks on him.

And he's definitively holding himself back from rushing to him.]

[Thank goodness the minosaur is dead. That was quite the workout, one that Regis wasn’t very prepared to do. He aches all over. While the scientists assured him that he was very much alive, he didn’t feel alive until now. Regis summons away the enchanted crossbow allowing it to fade into obscurity once more. It’s a miracle he still possesses such abilities after decades of inactivity. After using all of his might to uphold the Wall, Regis was almost certain he didn’t have much energy left. It feels strange not to feel the weight of the ring upon his fingers anymore. It’s strange but also quite liberating at the same time.

This is the first time Regis has tasted freedom in a very long time. He’s a free man.

He turns towards his son with a little smile, clearly humored by his son’s witty comment. Regis stares at Noctis for a moment, his eyes watering once he sees those familiar blue eyes. He missed Noctis. Yes, he did. For a moment they don’t exchange any words, that is until Regis opens his arms and beckons his son to come.
]

It’s…been a long time, hasn’t it?

[It was a decent workout for Noctis too, as he's been mostly using magic around here because there's apparently better magic than what he has back on Eos, and he's kinda curious. Elemental bombs are outdated. Turning blazing hot fire into cool air is not.

But he's not really thinking about it right now, too preoccupied staring at his father, wanting to gauge just how good health he is in, as he's never been open and sincere with it with Noct, especially with Noct. He doesn't see the cane, but it could've been placed away so he could use swords...?

He opens his mouth to say something, to shower him with questions about this place, when he arrived, how, what's up, but also about Eos, he wants to yell at him, to judge him- but he doesn't. It all dies in his throat when Regis opens his arms and Noctis doesn't hesitate, a memory very vivid, now mixed with reality, of him striding, then running up to his father to give him the tightest of hugs he can.]

[personal profile] lucere 2023-04-17 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
[A gentle sigh leaves Regis as he embraces Noct. He missed his son. He missed him terribly. Even though he sent him off with a smile, Regis knew it would be the last time he would ever see Noctis again. This saddened him to his core. He took his melancholy to his death knowing full well of the miserable fate that would await him. He wanted Noctis to live his own life. While it was paramount for Eos to be saved, he really just wanted his son to live and be free. He hugs the boy–no, young man tightly with all of his feeble might. He isn't as strong as he once was, a lingering effect of the Crystal’s terrible power. Nevertheless, he’s strong enough to give his son a proper hug.

There’s much that needs to be said between them but for now, Regis is content to remain silent. He gently cards his fingers through Noctis’s hair in a vain attempt to tame those unruly spikes. He’ll never understand why young people wear their hair like this but he’s grateful for the chance to bother those familiar black strands. Despite how unruly and rebellious the youth might be, he’s still Regis’s dear son.
]

You’ve become so strong.

[He mutters as he recalls how well Noctis fought against the minosaur.]

I don’t believe we ever fought together before.

[Realistically, it's been barely a few months since they separated, but considering under which conditions they did it and everything that followed, all the disaster and death and uncertainty, it feels like it's been years, decades. So even as he hugs Regis, it still feels as if he's going to disappear any second, that this is some kind of twisted dream that Astrals sent him- considering the amount of headaches he suffered from Titan, he wouldn't be surprised.

If the topic of hair ever comes up, he'll be surprised to learn that Noctis just doesn't comb his hair, he can't be bothered; he just tries to flatten it. Ignis tries to make him look more presentable, but even Prompto ends up with a more decent hairstyle than him. The reason why his hair sticks up like that- it's because he tosses and turns in his sleep, rarely finding peace until the wee hours of the morning.

The comment makes him chuckle, although it's a bit muffled from where he is so it's hard to tell if it's a scoff or a laugh,]
Learned from the best... [While physically Regis couldn't train him, he made sure Noct had the best teachers he could.

After a while, after letting himself indulge in the hug, he pulls back with a soft sigh and shakes his head,]
No, we haven't. [He turns slightly to look at the minosaur,] but if Ignis saw me dash in like that, he'd chew me out.

[He turns back to Regis-] When did you come? And how-- [...'how are you alive' doesn't manage to leave his mouth.]
lucere: (Default)

[personal profile] lucere 2023-04-18 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
[If he ever finds out that Noctis is too lazy to even comb his own hair, he just might lecture him about it. Nevertheless, no such thing will be mentioned for a while. They have more pressing matters to discuss, one such matter being his miraculous resurrection. Even Regis himself doesn’t understand how this came to be. While he’s quite aware of Olwen and the four leader’s powers, being able to resurrect the dead is quite taboo. Regis is certain there’s other candidates hailing from the great beyond they could’ve rescued but they chose him. He’s grateful to be alive again but he feels oddly guilty. Regis has yet to wrestle with his feelings regarding all this. He’s just thankful that he was reunited with his son again and it shows.

He gives the minosaur a hesitant glance when Noctis glances away. The damn thing is truly dead, isn’t it? Good. Regis doubts he has the stamina to fight another one of those things. While Eos has no shortage of fiends, that minosaur was a nightmare to contend with alone. If Noctis didn’t arrive here when he did, Regis doubts he would still be breathing. Just that thought alone makes him a bit uneasy.
]

It’s a miracle, I suppose. [He answers with a faint smile.] I just recently arrived not long ago to find this city in peril.

[It hasn’t even been a day yet, has it? He honestly can’t tell. His sense of time is a little off.]

When I first awoke, I was stranded all alone within a white snowy field.
illustro: (59)

[personal profile] illustro 2023-04-23 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Why do it when he has Ignis to fuss over it for him? Fussing twice over hair is just too much unnecessary work. (To be fair, Ignis can also make him very presentable when needed so Noctis can't argue.)

Noctis... can't tell what he feels. He's happy, yes, overjoyed that he can talk to his father, even if it is only for a short while now. But there is also uncertainty, sadness that once they figure out how to leave this place Regis will probably die again, and a bit of justified (in Noct's head it's justified) anger that Regis pulled what he did without telling him. While he is aware he probably wouldn't have wanted to leave, it still doesn't make him feel better.

The minosaur is definitively dead. Sadly, no Ignis around (at this time) to see if there are any useable parts of it.]

It really is. I mean- I never heard of any type of magic that can do it. [Noctis frowns-] I've not been here for too long, but this is the first time there was an attack on this scale. [And portals... where did they come from? Who activated them?]

Snowy field... weird. When I arrived, it was on a beach with the ocean. Huh... [He looks around when he hears more screeching in the distance,] Let's move from here, who knows if those portals open randomly on their own or if someone's conjuring them. [But in either case it's bad, and Regis can't fight, not another minosaur at least.]

[Maybe in the future they could go hunting together but for now, Regis isn’t interested in trying to loot the carcass of that miserable beast. If anything, he’s only interested in the young man before him. Noctis is a far cry from the grumpy young prince who left the capital on that fateful day. There’s new spark within his eyes, almost as if Noctis has found a purpose beyond himself. This pleases Regis somewhat but also saddens him since he knows the burden his son must carry. Even so, Regis won’t let his melancholic thoughts ruin this much needed reunion between them. That is until he hears screeching in the distance.

He glances over at Noctis with a hint of worry in his gaze. As much he enjoyed fighting alongside his son, Regis doubts he can handle another match. While he isn’t hobbling about anymore, he isn’t at his full strength. Hell, Regis is still a bit winded from wielding such sorcery earlier.

Yes, let's make haste before we find ourselves contending against a behemoth next.

[May the Six preserve them if an actual behemoth appears here. He battled those monsters in his youth and to be frank, it was quite messy. Nevertheless, he’s quite thankful that he managed to figure out a way to use this realm’s magic to his advantage. Although, he’s completely unaware that he’s on the fast track to mastering it.]

Let's rendezvous with the other volunteers here. Surely someone must know something about all this.

[He suggests as he gestures for Noctis to follow him. While he doesn’t seem to need a cane anymore, he’s still somewhat limping.]
